I can't believe that I haven't updated all of you on the fun activities of the Urban Farmgirls in Minneapolis! I don't have any fun photos to share tonight, but here's a run-down since I last updated:

* Halloween weekend we went on an Old-Fashioned Halloween "Tricks or Treats" hayride and tour of a historic village on the Minnesota River, bonfire and all!

* November's monthly gathering was the card-making night, but I missed it due to illness. You should see the cute homemade Christmas cards I'm getting from these girls! (That was another kit-event, like our needle-felting night. One Farmgirl put together cute kits with cards, envelopes and a bunch of fun stuff to make our cards and we all chipped in.)

* We all went to the Holidazzle Parade in Downtown Minneapolis over Thanksgiving weekend. True Minnesotans don't mind standing outside in the winter for a parade...though don't get me started about our "un-true" Minnesota weather this year!!!

* Just this week, our December monthly gathering was the Cookie Exchange night. Wow! These Farmgirls can bake! We had mocha shortbread (see recipe in the "Kitchen"), macaroons, banana-chocolate chunk, spritz, sugar, peanut butter and many, many more cookies!

* We're all going ice-skating over New Year's weekend at an outdoor rink but again, don't get me started on global warming and its effect on my supposed-to-be-frigid state. Luckily, a Farmgirl found an outdoor rink that is maintained and chilled so we can skate outside even if the temps hit 50. BIG sigh of relief. I HAVE to go skating outside each year!!

* And our calendar for 2007 is totally full already: spinning, service projects, soap-making, screen-printing, plant swap, "Christmas in July" to get ahead of '07 Christmas presents...the list goes on!

That's the update! I'll post more fun photos as we get them.

Catherine :)

Oh, I forgot! We also went to the No Coast Craft-O-Rama in early December, a local craft show of the coolest, hippest crafters. We had SUCH a fun time and are thinking about having an "Urban Farmgirls" table at the show next year. We each would love to sell individually, but it's so hard to get enough inventory. But if we pool our various and unique crafts together, well then...we have a little mini-business! (Ask me again in June if we're still this excited about it...)
