Posted - Jan 30 2012 : 3:18:23 PM I am the chapter 'head hen' in our area. I have a Facebook group page to keep in touch for now, but the girls want a page with product links and such. Plus, I'm starting to hate on FB, especially after this whole TimeLine nonsense. Any suggestions?

Posted - Feb 28 2012 : 6:48:11 PM We use email for most of our communication. I do have a blog set up with privacy settings so only people in our group can access it. I don't utilize that as much, but it's a nice place to post pictures.

Posted - Feb 05 2012 : 6:03:25 PM Thanks, CJ, that may be what I have to do. I am not comfortable with the changes being made to FaceBook, so an alternate route is needed!
Your Chapter sounds fun! I need to see how to set up in the Chapter HenHouse and do that, too.

Posted - Feb 05 2012 : 5:28:32 PM I'm "mother hen" for Farmgirls Southwest and we are SCATTERED all over the USA as a "virtual" chapter. However, we do have get togethers in areas where there might be a farmgirl or more. At Christmas in 2010 my daughter, who is in the Henhouse and lives in Phoenix, and I got together with 3 Henhouse chicks there. We did the same in Denver in June last year and other girls meet as they can.
As far as other connections and communication, I have everyone in my "HENHOUSE" email group and they all get emails. We try to connect in other ways by sending birthday cards and special cards when someone is needing encouragement or is sick or such like. I just send a group email. One chick had a baby last fall and the rest of us had a "virtual" baby shower for her. We all made our own purchases for her baby and then mailed them the same week so she got "showered". We've had a Christmas ornament exchange and right now are doing a Valentine exchange. And since our Henhouse is one of those in the Chapter listings we do quite a bit of posting there as well. We card "showered" a chick recently who is going through a major struggle. We share pictures and do a lot of things via email. It's not perfect but we have been able to make it work pretty well.
