Hey everyone,
I just relocated to CA a few months ago. I'm MaryJane Farmgirl Sisterhood Member #2176.
Are any of you in the Monterey Bay area of CAlifornia?

I still can't make up my mind what merit badge I want to try for. I have 12 glass canning jars in my kitchen. Half of them I use for chicken/veggie soup. The other half, I dream of turning them into pincushions/sewing kits. I'm also dreaming of earning a badge with my knitting skills. I just think this is the best thing since sliced bread!!!! Do you grow veggies at home? I've thought of doing that in my backyard, but have no idea what even grows here in Monterey. We have sun,but also lots of shade.

Hi Heather,
Glad to hear your dad is better. I'm sure that was pretty scarry,And might have you a bite of but time will take care of that.
When I first joined I did get a few merit badges, and latley I have just recived the Recipe merrit badge. I kind of go in and out with maryjanes farm stuff. But I have learned alot and its been helpful when I have had a problem with chickens ect. Everyone is helpful.
I think today I will work on finding another merrit badge to start I feel inspired.

Hi Cynthia,
Thanks for writing back. Sorry I didn't write back sooner. My daddy had an arrythmia fibrillation of his heart on January 5th..It's a miracle he is alive. I was home when it happened...and I called 911...he's doing so well now, and will make a full recovery :) :) I'm just now getting back into the swing of regular life ;) :)
so far I"m doin okay with finding stuff...but I'll definitely keep in contact with you. It's really beyond super cool to find someone here in the area that is also a Mary Jane's Farm fan like me ;) :) Have you tried for any merit badges yet?

Hi Heather,
I work in Salinas just 20 minutes north of you. Welcome to California. How are you liking Monterey? If you need any help finding places to go or shop let me know maybe I can help. I have a Hair and Nail Salon in Salinas and I travel from our Ranch in Lockwood so there is alot of ground I cover.
