Hello to all I am new to the group and I just wanted to introduce my self.

I found this website as a result of searching on how to make yo yo quilts and I hope that I can get some feed back on the idea I am going to present to you and maybe how I can go about it. You see on 6-20-2006, my mom lost her battle with lung cancer and I have set a goal to make a yo yo quilt for Relay For Life with the Relay For Life ribbon, the ribbon it self would be purple of course and I would make the back ground white and I was thinking about putting a mixed purple and white material around the outside of the quilt and then tack it to a white background and donate it to the Relay for Life and they can sell raffle tickets and then with the money they get from the ticket sales they can give it to the American Cancer Society. I feel that this will help me heal somewhat and I also feel that this is what my mother would have wanted me to do.

Monica,

Welcome to the group! I am so very sorry for your loss and wish you peace through this hard time. I think the idea of a quilt is wonderful and will bring joy to other hearts I am sure. I myself do not quilt, but I believe there are many others who do and would be a great help to you!

I am glad you have joined and I look forward to seeing you "around"!
