hi cindylou .. my gracious! in all the time (and visits) i have made to the farmgirls forum .. i don't believe we have ever spoken .. so on the one hand, i'm sorry to hear that you are leaving maryjane's farm before we got to meet .. but, oh chile' .. on the other .. i am living proof that these 'freedom' years are among the best in life! you will SO very much enjoy them!

(isn't the word 'retirement' just the silliest word you ever heard? sounds like we were 'tired' and now we are 'RE-tired' .. tired all over again!

and gurlfren .. you will see that THESE will be your busiest and among the most exciting and fulfilling years you have ever had .. the FREEDOM you will have to just laze around and read all those books you've been wanting to delve into ... to try your hand at a craft, art, skill that you've never had the time to devote to ... to just lie in a hammock and day-dream of all your happy times ... 'no commitments and obligations' (except for those that you CHOOSE)so you can run the roads and visit friends and visit places you've always wanted to see or re-visit those you want to spend LEISURELY time at!) the TIME you will have to gather with friends .. new and olde! and i do hope that someday you will amble over to this beautiful state of KENTUCKY and visit me here at Cabin Creek Farm! come alone, come with gurlfrenz, come with your honey hunk husband .. i promise grande memories to add to your life.

ahhhhhhh .. FREEDOM ... the years when we get to PLAY ALL DAY (and get paid for it!!!)

i wish you much happiness! xo, frannie

Oh Cindylou, I miss you a bunch. I have been so busy, wish I could get you to come down here and help me out! But oh so glad your enjoying your time, and your days. I received my goodie box and wow!!!! I couldn't quilt for two days reading, reading, and reading! I will have a note coming to you girls! Sounds like a "good thing" putting up all those cherries! I have been eating them as well since they are in the stores now. But I'm sure they're not as good as fresh! Anyway, I'll be in touch - very soon! Love to you, and miss you so....

Hi Gloria,
Thank you for being such a dear farmgirl at heart friend ~ I'm hoping that someday I can take you up on your hospitality!
I have been blissfully picking huckleberries ~ three days last week, and going again tomorrow. My dear neighbor Deb has a sweet cherry tree that is loaded with cherries this year. I've picked and frozen 8 gallons! I am definitely in hunter-gatherer heaven! Miss you!!
love,

Dear Beth, Jenny, Robin, Pamela, Patti, Karin, Gloria, Jennie, Luanne, Kay, Catherine and Jan,
Good morning dear sweet farmgirl at heart friends!
You've all brought tears to my eyes ~ I can't tell you how much I cherish all of you!! Of course, I'll have more time to talk to you all here on the forum and you can always get in touch via e-mail. If you're ever over this way, be sure to let me know so we can get together for a visit.
Last Saturday I visited Julia ~ No Worries Farm ~ north of Spokane, WA. JoAnn came down from Colville, she and I helped Julia at her booth at a neighboring Lavender Festival. Julia graciously invited me to spend the night in the "fairy guest room." Oh my, I had such a wonderful time playing with her adorable children who reminded me of my own at that age. It was a wonderful way to begin "retirement"!!
I've gone huckleberry gathering Monday and Wednesday, picked cherries across the street at my dear neighbors. Guess I'm in my hunter-gatherer phase! So berries are now frozen, as well as some are waiting to be made into pies.
I love to travel! I'll be going to see Kay and Missy to help at a fundraising "market" they are organizing to benefit cystic fibrosis.
Luanne, visiting my home state of Colorado is definitely on the list! I'm not sure when yet, but I will definitely visit Avondale to relive childhood memories of visiting my grandparents and can't wait to meet you!!
Pamela, we'll definitely get together for the Farm Chicks show.
I wish I lived close enough to visit and meet all of you!!
Gloria ~ when Aaron and I make it down to Dallas to visit his family, you KNOW girl, that I will be hot footing it down to your place!!
Robin, if you're ever over my way, please let me know! That goes for all of you ~ I'd love to give each and everyone of you a great big hug!! Thank you for being the best ever "sisterhood club" I've ever had the pleasure of belonging to!!
Tomorrow Aaron and I are going huckleberry picking again while they're still ON. He makes the best huckleberry, apple, walnut pie, including the crust. Oh my, I am one lucky farmgirl!
I still don't have my laptop set up at home yet, so am using dear hubbys'. I'll check in weekly and will get to answering your e-mails soon. I know I missed several before leaving last Friday. Thank you for your patience!
I talked to Libbie Tuesday, she is so excited to pick herself up by her bootstraps and grab the reins of the farmgirl chapters. I am very grateful to have such a sweet, caring, enthusiastic farmgirl to pass the baton to!
love,

Dear Sweet Cindylou, Oh how you'll be missed! I wish you all the best in this next chapter of your life....But wait, maybe now you'll have time to come home to Avondale for a visit?!? Would'nt that be great? My front porch swing and my kitty (Cindylou) are waiting for you. You're always welcome, anytime! I'll keep bugging you by email. Enjoy! Love you lots, Luanne

Just a little note from Texas! I am so happy for you! You have worked hard and long, and we know you can enjoy your family, friends, and everything else that your little (big) heart has desired! But we will email you, pester you, call you, and well we've just kindred spirits, so you are stuck with us! But life is short, and you have to enjoy each new day. And you deserve it! In all of our lives, people cross our paths for a reason. I am better for having (met) you and will continue to grow knowing that! Have fun, love big, visit everyone you know and want - because you can now! But we are always here for you, just an email or phone call away! And....now that you have all this time - just drive on down here to hot...hot...Texas, and sit a spell! I would love to have ya! You go girl!

love, hugs and strawberries to you Cindylou, from gloria :>)

I hate to hear that CindyLou is retiring, but only for selfish reasons! She has been so sweet and so extremely helpful to me since I found MJF, and I will miss hearing from her. On the other hand, I think it's great that she's following her heart and wish her all the best.

Some people search for happiness; others create it.
