The Frugal Farmgals invite you to join!

We are simply meeting together to experience and learn hearthside cooking. Registration is required ($) The application is on-line, or you can call the 1-800 number listed to pay over the phone. They limit the class to 12 people and only hold it one time a year. It is held at Fort Meig's in Perrysburg, Ohio.

http://www.fortmeigs.org/pdf/2011/hearthside-cooking-class.pdf

Date: April 9, 2010
(Saturday), they advise coming early
Cost: see application

Come join with us to learn hearthside cooking from the 1800's! I would love to meet some of you.

Do you still want to exchange shopping bags? I have not had time to make one homemade.

One more quick question, how does one officially 'join' a chapter? At any rate, I'd love to meet some other women in the area!

If you would like to join Frugal Farmgirls, I am going to set up a meet-up and work on Community service journals. If you don't want to participate in "community service" right now, there are many journals used for merit certificates (keeping track of healthy eating, spending, etc.). I'll e-mail when I have a date set.

I also will to come, but I'd have to wait until next week to pay - hopefully there will still be a spot left. It sounds like a hoot, and I love that the woman shown in the pic is barefoot......I'm such a hillbilly (pioneer woman/country girl) at heart!

Don't forget to call the 800 # or print the registration form and send it in to secure a place. I'm not sure how many spots are left, but last I heard there were 10 left.

I have not made my first apron yet, so I may have to bring one store made for now. It's on my list.

So glad you are coming! I have not met any Farmgirls, other than via e-mail.

One more note. Do not stress about making the shopping bag yourself. The idea is recycle, recycle, recycle. Check thrift stores for unique shopping bags or check with local crafters if you do not have time to sew, crochet, or knit one yourself.

One more addition to the meet-up. Bring a reusable shopping bag to swap with another farmgirl or interested farmgirl who attends. We will swap after the cooking class. If you are coming, please post or e-mail me so I can see if anyone is even coming.

I have not camped at these, but wanted to help others who want to stay and camp around the area.

There are other numerous hotels in the area as well.
