[size=1]We are having a lot of fun getting our chapter going... We are in the Arlington Washington area,(for anyone who is looking for a chapter). Over the summer we went to a local lavendar festival, made lavendar wands, made sewing kits, made super cute kitchen towel angels. Last weekend we got together at my community clubhouse for a day of soup and sewing. We are making ourselves aprons! Yay, so much fun! In two weeks, on the 16th we are going to the Lynden Antique and Craft Fair. We will meet up for a bite of lunch and then off to the fair for a day of hunting out some possible little treasures. We are going to be adding some service oriented activities to focus on. We just recently decided to share in the hostessing. It is so nice to take turns deciding what our project will be and communicting that to everyone and either holding our get together in the hostess's home or at my communities clubhouse. The clubhouse is great...we have a supply of folding tables to work on projects, and a full sized kitchen. Works out very well. I can't wait to see where we take this chapter!!!

Northwest Country Angels is holding a Meet and Greet on Thursday the 7th at a Frontier Village restaurant. If anyone who lives in the Arlington area is interested in finding a chapter in our area and would like to stop by at 6:00 send me a private message and I will give you our contact information. We are looking forward to this as a time to share what we have been doing and what is in the works for upcoming events. We value each other and believe in celebrating each others talents and gifts. June is the Western Washington Quilt Shop Hop! We are planning to take Saturday as our shop hop day together. We will pile into our cars together and take a road trip to visit as many shops as we can. Of course we will make a stop for some time to visit while we dine on the best lunch in the country that we find on our days journey. Quilt Shop Hopping does require mid-day refueling and then we will be ready to zip down the highway to for the next fabulous fabric find on the map. Who knows, maybe we will unknowingly meet other MJ Farmigirls that day. How cool would that be?

Go to http://www.washingtonquiltshophop.com/Home_Page.html This is where you can find all the info that you and or your Western Washington Chapter needs to plan a fun day.

It's been awhile since I posted any of our chapter goings on here. We meet once a month and always enjoy ourselves so much! Last week we met for a day of beading at the "clubhouse". There was hot creamy chicken potato soup on the stove, bread making in the bread maker, tea pot hot and coffee brewed. Not such a bad way to spend a chilly damp spring afternoon. Although, my bread turned out to be more of a lump than a loaf...LOL. Everyone was sweet and ate some anyway, and as it turned out worked well as dumplings when we broke it up into our soup. There is always an upside isn't there?

This wonderful angel was made using a (new) mens hankie! Shari taught us how to make her. I think she is beatiful. I think it would be fun to tea die a hankie first to give her a more vintage appearance.

The NW Angels would like to welcome sister farmgirls to stop by for a visit! We typically meet once a month to make a craft or go on a day trip together. If you are located in the Arlington WA. Area and would like to know more about our chapter and who we are just send me an email.

The Lynden antique and craft fair was beautiful and fun with a good twist of humor at the end for myself and Amanda and Jessica who were riding with me. Since we were in Lynden, Jessica really wanted to drive by the house that her great grandparents lived in. Well, we found the house and she got to take some great pictures of it. After we left and had gotten several miles down the road it appeared that we had a sheriff following us, and rather closely I might add. My daughter thought I was speeding, but I was only going 40 and the way he was closing in on us I thought I might be going too slow. (long country road I hadnt seen any speed limit signs) Ok, I increased my speed to 45. This seemed to be fine...along we went for another 1/2 mile or so. No lights.... oops the lights started flashing. My daughter was very encouraging..."oh mom I told you to slow down, now your going to get a ticket". The officer came to my window, looked at us all with a funny expression asked if we were from around here and then asked for my I.D which I gave to him while I was rambeling on as to why we were in town. He went back to his car got in and got on his radio. At that point Jessica says, did you notice that his car says US Border Patrol? I exclaimed something out of surprise at that bit of information. We waited....he got out, talked on his radio more, but was looking toward where we had come from.... he got back in..... we wait wait wait... and then what? another border patrol car pulls in behind him. I'm thinking oh great...I told my daughter that maybe she shouldnt have bought that cute country snowman at the fair...they are going to search our car and might think we are smuggling the snowman home. A big LOL from all of us. So, finally the 2nd border patrol comes to my window...asks how many are in the car... which we all reply to. And then I go on again as to why we are in town...the fair looking for the house and on and on. He said we probably didnt know this but just beyond the house we were taking pictures of, is Canada. We did know this from what Jessica had told us, but I would have never thought that border patrol would have pulled us over. I guess even a drive by shooting with a camera can look suspicous. The gentleman was very curtious and returned my license to me and kindly verified that the direction we were heading with a turn to the right would get us back to town and the freeway home. The only regret we have is that we didnt ask if we could get our picture with them so we could scrap book the days full story. LOL

Our next meeting will be held at Blue Spruce Community Clubhouse, and we will have a brief business/planning meeting followed by Shari teaching us how to make Christmas angels from a mens hankie (preferrably un-used lol). She says that project will take at the most an hour. Since we will have the clubhouse for the day for anyone who wants to can bring projects currently working on or start a new one. I think I'm going to use this time to make Christmas cards. We would love to have some new sister farmgirls stop by for a visit! Please send me an email if you think that you live near enough to Arlington or Granite Falls Wa. and you would like to stop by and meet us! We would like to meet you!

Today we are heading up to Lynden for the Antique and Craft Fair! Awhile back a potential new member emailed me an inquiry as to our chapter. At that time I wasnt sure if we were going to continue or not. I told her that I would email her when I knew our plan. She was so nice and actually lived close to me. I feel just terrible, as her email was saved for a long time, but was then delelted. I dont remember her name or anything. Soooo if your reading this and you live in Arlington, Wa. and it sounds like a familiar scenario, please contact me again.

Sincerely,
Lisa ( Elkaye)
