Shoal Creek Living History Museum will give a class on Lye Soap Making. If anyone is interested please email ASAP so we can set up a date when we have enough to fill the class.
You will need to bring 13 cups of lard from a butcher, one can of Lye , not Drain-o product. Gloves, Apron, Wooden spoons, large stainless steel bowl, at least five cup size, and a plastic shoe box for soap storage. Also, plastic dishpan is helpful, but the site may have some.
