I have begun a new thread here for all the Heart of Texas Henhouse girls, and anyone who would like to be but do not have the funds at this time to buy the $20 sisterhood fee. I know there was another thread, but I thought I'd start fresh. If you are from Texas, please let us know! :)

OUR FIRST PROJECT : We have a Texas bag swap on our Henhouse started by Farmgirl Kyria. She says, "As everybody here knows, homemade bags are a great way to do our part in saving the environment. I'm appalled at how many plastic bags have gone through my home. I have saved them and reused them, recycled them, etc., but it seems to be a never-ending flow!

Plus, these make great gifts for all occasions. Who's with me?"

This tutorial: http://www.psiquilt.com/2009/08/friendship-bag-tutorial.html looks super easy and is adorable!

Anyone interested? You can join in and be an Honorary Heart of Texas Henhouse HOTTIE!!!

Well, I'm a little slow. I didn't realize this thread was here! Thanks, Brooke!

Ladies, I did a practice quilted bag and found that it was tiny. So the swap will be of any style or pattern you want. The only requirement will be the size. It needs to be big enough to hold some groceries.

One resource for finding tutorials is www.craftster.org . They have a thread for purses, bags, etc.

So Cynthia, if you'd like to do a simpler bag, just tell us and I'll add you to the list. If not, what kind of project are you wanting to do? Maybe we can do a different swap or a craft-along.

The quilted bag is so cute but I'm afraid beyond skill level (or maybe patience level) I out on this one but looking forward the next project.

Simply Thankful,
Cynthia

Hey Brooke, I posted over there, too. I figured if I committed both places that I won't procrastinate and actually get it done! ha ha

Catherine, will you also like Kyria know in the Henhouse? She is in charge of this swap actually! (At least that is my understanding! lol.)

LaVonna, It's too bad, but I understand! Another one will pop up soon! :D

There IS more action going on in the Heart of Texas Henhouse now! Woohoo!
