Last Sunday, a few of us Flora Farmgirls went to Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the Goodwill. Then we went to the Golden Corral for dinner. I got 3 tiered skirts and two tops, a beautiful gold leaf china dinner plate and a set of sunflower salt & pepper shakers. We're going to meet again next Sunday at my house for a mending party. (Mending not required...lol) Everyone is bringing as many brownies as they can, so we can get a box together to send to a friend of my son's who is in Iraq and begging for brownies for his unit. Sorry to drone on and on, but I haven't talked to anyone except hubby and son for four days....I need a farmgirl fix!Stay warm...Spring is on it's way!Happy Groundhog Day!!

well, we individually wrapped 10 pounds of brownies. I'm making another batch to top off the box. I froze them before mailing to help keep them fresh and maybe they'll still be a little frozen when they get to Nathan in Iraq. What a joy to bite into a frozen brownie on a 105 degree day. He's going to be VERY POPULAR!
At our gathering, I peg-legged a pair of pants, took in a tapestry vest and put new elastic in a skirt. We ate Nachos, and Tofu Spread on Italian toast and Ham salad sandwiches made with Bologna. YUM!
Hopefull we're getting together soon, to make soap, skirt and wash Angora fleece and do a seed/plant exchange.....being a Farmgirl is a good thing!

We haven't been a group for more than a few months....we're trying. Some of us live so far away from each other it's hard to get together. It seems the way it is working for us is that we throw out an idea about something interesting to do. Finalize the plans and then whoever shows up...shows up. I have a huge pile of things that need mended and altered, so why not do it with some friends...eh? Everyone is bringing snacks, so you know everyone will bring their best recipes...that's the way farmgirls are....

Debbie, it's sounds like you all had a wonderful time. What a great idea about the brownies. And I love the name - so creative! The true spirit of a farmgirl.
