Karen and I have been talking about~ what would we do different TODAY if we were just BRAVE enough........and it got me thinking of our Queen Bee herself~ and the bravery her life models....To walk in that kind of intergrity day in and day out. To live your ideals....Sometimes I wonder if we see only her beauty and talent and successes and maybe not the "giants" she had to slay every day to live it...........We farmgirls benefit from the fact that she is willing to be brave everyday.............We see the glamour... but maybe gloss over the "work", and blisters, and having to put yourslef out there to people who just "dont get it", or may be more interrested in being a critic then anything else.. So I thought let's shake it up a little.. lets change the questions a little..

What would you do today if you were just "MaryJane" enough?..

For me, today.... in this moment.. It is to live my conviction whether others get it or not.

Monica~ YOU GO GIRL!!! good for you. Isn't it amazing what we can do when we just "do it"? If I had a gold star I would so give you one...

Brooke~ I love what you are doing and I am so sure you are brilliant at it. It is certainly a message that needs to get out and I am really excited to hear all about it in the months to come... Keep on Keeping on!

Well, I think I am trying to do it, because I can't think of anything else I would do. This is .. starting my own "programs" on trying to be more healthier in WHOLE body, mind, and spirit. I've already started helping 3 women, and I hope to go from there. I am still working on it.. As you might know, I am taking a certified herbalist class (which incorporates some other things as well),
so I hope when this is done .. that I will be working my way into
getting it going even more and offline too! I have lots of plans being put forth that are being made into reality, step by step. I just want to help people be the best they can be! So I think I am on my way..I'm doing it .... hopefully!

Okay, I did it!!!!! I found out that there was a spinning shop in Kingman which is 30 miles from me and half of it is very, very windy mountain roads that I really don't like! I was going to wait until my friend could go with me and drive and then I thought of your saying Rene and I decided Mary Jane would go so I packed up the girls and went!!! It was scary, but I did it!!!!!

I can't describe how MaryJane affects my life. She is truly one of a kind so I can't imagine what it would be like to be her for a day.

I know I would have the courage to pursue my love of sewing and develop a line of "Prarie Princess" clothes for everyone, children, women and yes even men (although that would be Prarie Prince). I am trying to focus on my goals but in order to do that I must tie up the loose ends of my life so I can focus. If MaryJane ever opens a store up in Boise, Idaho I would love to manage it for her because she has, and is, helping me to change my life. I feel her books and magazines are so much more than something to read, they are something to live by and that is what I am pursuing now. I feel so energized by her written words and pictures that I pick one up every day to get that feeling of being able to go on and take a risk or chance to escape the insanity of the 9-5 job that will never go anywhere.

Thanks for thinking up this topic, I will be watching to see what other farmgirls come up with. Already I can see the pattern on how we would take risks to make changes.

Some people look for happiness, others create it.

Annika,
have you read "the diet for a new america" from John Robbins? John is the heir of Robbins Ice cream~ he walked away from his family fortune and the research he has done on American Agriculture is stunning. He has a website calle www.earthsave.org and on there, he offers a print out called "our food future" Making a difference with every bite~the power of the fork~ Which is really awesome information. While I am not a vegetarian~ his views on Mass production aren't missed on me. I love John's story. It is a reminder that a "revolution" begins with just One. Shifting our thinking, which in turn shifts our actions and reactions and then somehow propells us into change. I am so in the "beginning stages" of my own "revolution".. and am so excited about the journey....I love your post, and I think a lot of us are right there with you.

I would fight for more healthy and organic farming practices. I am surrounded by mono-cropping and cannot see it as sane or healthy. I have no idea what all they are dumping on it and me and the earth. So that is what I would do if I were a bold and brave lady such as MaryJane instead of a shy mouse.

Is there ever really a good time? No way...hunting season is coming up and I will have lots more time when a couple males I won't mention by name are otherwise occupied *U*
How 'bout the end of September or early October?

Rene, What a cool thought! I love the new question! It sounds like something to go on a t-shirt! I am going to have to write that down and put it somewhere I can see it!

I would take my 37 acres and turn it to a huge garden/orchard to be able to sell the produce and quit the day job.
