Thank you Denise....I've been talking to her I think? Isn't she the one who's fixing up that old farmhouse? Cool....I will contact her and ask. I'm getting ready to leave next week to go see my family in Iowa but I have a laptop which will be nice for staying in touch with everyone and truly being "virtual"....thanks again!

Sandra and Erin,
Bees Without Borders is a virtual chapter. None of us live near enough to one another to have mettings like many of the chapters do. I think BeeHaven Maven is still the chapter leader for that one. I'm sure you can contact her through the forum.

Thanks Rene! I'll look in the member bios as you suggested...no sense reinventing the wheel if there are some online groups already. Thank you so much for your input. If everyone keeps explaining it to me then one of these days it is bound to sink in! LOL!
I just love ALL of this stuff....it's almost as if I've been waiting for it all my life and now it's here! TaDah!
Have a great one!

Hi Sandra and Erin,
I will put my 2c in.. I think what you are asking is; "why you cannot access the hen houses"... 1st I think you have to be a memeber of that "house" before you can access it.. and as far as "virtual hen house" I think you're asking;"If there are some that are "open" to anyone no matter where you are living? and the answer is yes... I believe that many of them have members from all over - you will need to find out who the leader is and gain access through them (in member bios)....There are hen houses for writers, readers, etc... but if there isnt one for what you are looking for.. start one, it is easy.... I am cutting and pasting Carol's comments from the hen house page.......maybe that will help too....

When you become an official member of the Farmgirl Sisterhood (FIND OUT HOW at www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood) and create or join a Farmgirl Chapter, you will gain access to set up “henkeeping” in our online “Henhouses.” We now have nearly 500 Farmgirl Chapters around the world where members meet regularly face-to-face, and even a few “virtual” chapters where members meet solely online. Our Henhouses will give Farmgirl Chapter members who become part of the official Farmgirl Sisterhood a place to meet online to chat; post photos; and share instructions, tutorials, and more for just their own chapter.

Hope this helps a little, too.

Sandra, your bake over sounds wonderful - YUM!

Oh my GOSH!!! Yesterday I found $20.00 laying in the street...today I get an email form Mary Jane herself! I am SO excited....I'm serious too...this is an honor to beat the band! I am printing this off and framing it and putting it next to my sisterhood certificate!
WOW! I am in shock....thank you so much MJ (that's actually what I call you on the boards; I hope you don't mind?) I will see what Erin wants to do...and we'll go from there. I also found out that Jen is only 45 minutes from me....this is shaping up to be one fantastic week!
If there is anything I can do (volunteer-wise) for Jen or you please let me know. I don't know how you all do it all?!? I will help in any way I can in whatever way. Thanks again so much for taking your time to get back to us on this. We appreciate it!
F.Y.I. Just made my first "bakeover" last night...YUMMO!

Good Morning Sandra and Erin,
Sounds like the two of you need to get your own virtual chapter started. That's what the henhouses are specifically for. It's easy.

One of you will need to be the designated leader. The leader will be the only one that can post in the bulletin board section of your henhouse. But members can post away in the other categories and give the leader guidance on the bulletin board posts.

Once you pick out a virtual chapter name and a leader, email that farmgirl's EXACT email address and your chapter name to: Jen@maryjanesfarm.org

Happy clucking! You can invite more into your roost as you see fit, as long as they are part of the sisterhood.

Thanks Jen, I emailed you and Erin I am with you on the virtual....want to start our own? I've asked about it in the past and haven't heard but if I know there are more of us...we could start out just us 2? Just not sure if we have to have a virtual chapter first? If so I would be willing to order the packet and share whatever's in it. Just let me know! I feel like a chicken without a roost! LOL!

What about virtual henhouses? Are there any? If so, I'm interested.

Hey Girls,
Sorry about the confusion. Let me see if I can clear things up.

The first step to joining the Henhouses is to sign up for Farmgirl Sisterhood membership at
http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood/.

Once you're an official Sister, email me (jen@maryjanesfarm.org) and I'll set you up for “henkeeping” in one or more Henhouse Chapters at http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/HenHouseSnitz/. At that point you'll be able to sign in using your farmgirl forum username and password - but you must be a sisterhood member AND you must register through me first.

You can also start a new Henhouse that's tailored to your specific interests. It's easy, free, and you don't have to work to gather up members; they'll just migrate right on in!

Chapter leaders can send me names of members to sign in, or Sisters can contact me directly.

Feel free to come to me with any questions - I'm here to help!

Jen

Tammy...I had problems too but thought it was because I didn't belong to a chapter. I don't think they have all the bugs worked out yet but you might want to email Sunny at MJ's or go to the tech support part of the forum and let them know. I tried last week and got in but could only read and they said the "administrator" would be contacting me but haven't heard a word yet. And from reading, it sounds like you have to belong to a chapter to post to the Henhouse...well...the closest chapter to me is 2 hours away so that's not happenin and I'm really too busy this summer to start one but yet I would like to talk with other "sisters" about the badges and things. I'm sure they'll get things worked out but you know what they say..."the squeaky wheel gets the oil" so I would contact them and let them know. Good luck and let me know if you find out anything.
