I always tell people that my son (who was born 2 weeks before birthday #39) that he's my late life blessing - and he is! What's your favorite coffee at Sbux? We're usually so busy that I never have time to drink the stuff - I have to wait until I'm not at work to enjoy it. Nice perk is we get 30% off all Sbux products including drinks and while we are at work the drinks are free - I usually get one or two a shift if I'm lucky. Which dept. are you a manager of? Our youngest arrived on the night of my 37th birthday,or say early morning the next. We were suprised, to say the least, our son was in high school and mt tubes had been tied. I'm a dept. manager. but ready to pass it to someone else. If I could. I love starbucks. I couldn't work there, I would be walking in air from all the coffee. Lea Vollmer	Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 11:22:09 AM Sewing is something I'd like to do better at - it was the only "F" I ever got in school. Flunked sewing in the 7th grade! Never have "liked" it, but I do try valiantly at times. As long as I don't have to sew something to wear, I do OK. I am thinking about making an apron as I have fabric from my grandmother I'd like to do something with. I keep telling myself 'how hard can an apron be?' - then I remember the poncho I made in 7th grade! Knitting isn't hard to do - at least I don't think it is. Like all things it just takes patience and practice. Is there a yarn shop near you that offers lessons? I certainly know the "why doesn't my body work the way my mind feels" thing! Wish I still had at least my 30 yr. bod! I had planned to learn to ride a motorcycle this year and take the ABATE class they offer, but adopting my dog and upcoming gall bladder surgery ate up the $$$ I had saved for that. Maybe next year. In the meantime, with gas prices being what they are, I may get a scooter to ride to work! How old is your daughter? What do you do at Wal-Mart? We have a super W about 5 min. from here - visit it regularly! Have a good day - I'm off to finish the flower bed I've been working on out front. 2gramsroses	Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 01:43:31 AM Hi Lea, I work a Wal-Mart, been almost 18 years. Like all jobs sometimes good sometimes bad. We have a small farm raise cattle have a few chickens and pigs when the freezer needs them. LOL. I also do needle work, garden and would love to know how to knit. I like to sew, and I make aprons for Mother and daughters/sons. They are called "sweetpeas in thyme". I'm 50 come Sept. and don't know why my body doesn't look the way my mind feels? You know how that is. I do like to walk/jog, ride bikes and my goal is to learn roller blading this year. My hubby and I like to ride motercycles. I have one and so does he, most the time I ride with him unless our daughter wants to go then she rides with dad. I'll write you more this afternoon. I am a 51 yr. old wife, mom to a wonderful 12 yr. old son and I work part time as a barista at Starbucks. I like coffee - a lot! I love to knit, spin (just about anything fiber related), cross stitch and read. I dabble in other crafts as well, right now I'm on a jewelry binge. I love to garden, want to build a chicken coop and have chickens next year and someday I'd like to have a few acres to raise Alpaca on for fun. I have 4 cats, a Dachshund, volunteer at the local humane society, foster kitties for them, and play the oboe in a woodwind ensemble. I also like to camp and generally do things outdoors. My husband is a lab tech for Sabic in Mt. Vernon (formerly G.E. Plastics) and for someone who grew up on a farm, he sure is city-fied! His family still has the farm property, but they have a contract with a farmer to do all the planting/harvesting, etc. So, that's a little about me, how about you? What are your interests?
