Ok gals, I just started a chapter in the Snoqualmie Valley area, about 30 minutes east of Seattle! Anyone out there want to join me? I'm sure my leader packet will have good ideas, but if anyone wants to share how you got your chapter started, I'd love to hear! How did you find your "real life" members? Thanks!

oooh! I was just online sending out the press release to our local paper, and getting my email list ready! Yes, please spread the word! I'm thinking of having a once a month meeting at Miller's Arts Community Center in Carnation, along with going thru the Sisterhood badge program, either together, or at least supporting each other as we go through individually. My big dream would be to start a push for a community garden/P patch in Carnation or nearby somewhere as our community service project. We have a lot of farms and CSA's but nothing for ordinary suburbia type folks to dig into the dirt themselves as far as I know. I will definitely let you know how things develop. Thanks for your interest!
edited to say PS What is Amelia's screen name so I can contact her in case she doesn't see this?

Emme,

I'm about an 1 1/2 hours southwest of you in Bonney Lake. Let me know what you plan on doing & I'll try to come.

Amelia is new to MJF forum & lives 30 min. from Seattle. She may be interested.

The group we had in my area pettered out. So exciting to get another one going here in WA!!!

Luckily we live on the very edge of the foothills, so no we're not buried under the 10 feet of snow they have just about 30 minutes away and 1500 feet higher! LOL! Yikes. We just get the Seattle rain...but its sunny today! Yippie!

Wow Emme! I didn't know you lived in that region (I should get out a WA map sometime! LOL) Are you buried in snow?

I would suggest talking to all your friends and seeing if they want to join up!
