Posted - Nov 04 2007 : 11:33:26 AM We here at Double D Ranch (the Wellers)are quite busy with soap making. We have also started on lip butters, solid lotion bars and bath salts. What fun! We are also turning all the cute pumpkins we were given into pumpkin puree for the freezer. Now all winter long we will enjoy pumpkin breads, muffins, and pies.
The other families in our groups are making apple butter, processing pumpkins too, and keeping busy with needlework and misc. crafts. One family is in China right now, to bring home their new little daughter!
Our group is really diverse- we have adopted an African child, there is the other family that has adopted from Russia and now China, and the other families all have lots of kiddos as well. The one thing we all have in common (besides most of our husbands being in law enforcement or the Fire Department) is that we are all homeschoolers. We are all doing our projects with our children. Much more fun!

Posted - Nov 13 2007 : 10:54:19 PM I found the greatest apiary to get great, natural, unfunky beeswax! They are over on the west side of the mountains close to where I used to live , and they agreed to let me buy their wax in buld straight from them instead of thru the mail agian. I hate shipping charges! The wax is a beautiful, natural golden color and smells of divine honey- I just adore the stuff. I have three batches of lotion bars and I like them all so well I am carrying all three scents around in my purse! Greedy!

Posted - Nov 07 2007 : 10:27:29 PM Wow, Dalyn - it sounds like you have such an amazing group - and that you all are up to some really fun things! I'll bet you are going to just love the taste of "fresh" pumpkin this winter - what a great idea! And as a side note - I think it's the perfect time of year for solid lotion bars, too.
XOXO, Libbie
