Hi Bee Sisters. As promised I am adding this thread to be a sign up for a secret Santa Swap as I had suggested in our newsletter. If you are interested.....please sign up here. You will only need to be a Secret Santa to one other Bees Without Borders member and someone will be your Secret Santa. The gift can be anything you would like...something homemade is always nice, but not mandatory.... I will have my dh pull names to match up and send each of you a name of another gal to whom you will be a secret Santa. If you sign up, then you are automatically giving me permission to pass your name and address to one other member. OKEY DOKEY???? If you have any questions or suggestions......leave them here on this thread.

The social worker has the "Power of Attorney," form to fill out. I was told that I need to have my mother sign it.

Hey Sharon--did the power of attorney not give an "alternate" usually, when we prepare them in our law office, we say, I appoint "blah blah blah and in the event of their removal, death, inability or unwillingness to serve, then I appoint ____________"_You may already be the alternate, and therefor wouldn't have to obtain a new document. Who is the attorney that prepared them? I'd contact their office over the weekend, and see if you can find a home number as well...

Kathy that is good to know. I told the social worker that the confusion is new. My mom is normally as sharp as a tack and has a very good memory. We also found out that my mom has hypothyroidism as well.

Oh sharon I am sorry to hear of your troubles. I hope you can talk your Mom back into her treatments. The lack of memory could be because of the toxins in her system too. Before Jeff went on dialysis he sometimes got a little confused.
Well good luck and God Bless. I will say a little prayer for you and your Mom.

Thanks gals. I think that my mom is heading toward dimensia. She has been very confused lately, which is so strange. I just hope that I can convince her tomorrow.

I love your aprons Nasbabe.

I am so stressed out gals. My mom fell at Thanksgiving, and by the time, that it took for us to talk her into going to the hospital, her kidneys were failing. She is on dialysis, but refused dialysis last Monday and today, while at the nursing home. She went on Wednesday. The doctor put in orders for my mom to be sent back to the hospital. My brother, and I are going down to the nursing home tomorrow, and will try to talk my mom into letting me have the power of attorney. For some reason, she took my older brother off the list, so now it is up to me. Of course, I wouldn't make the decisions without my brother's input, because that is who I am. I won't let my know that.

The nurse from the nursing home told me that my mom refused the ambulance ride back to the hospital. Without the dialysis, her body will shut down and if I can't encourage her to go to the hospital and also get the power of attorney, then the nursing home will eventually have to call 911, and my mom will be in acute stage healthwise, and back to square one.

Here is my adorable basket from Jonni (kygurlsrbest). That is a little red pottery snowman in front of the hand woven teatowell. Also, you can see that the handle of the basket is actually an old tea strainer. CUUUUUUUUUUTE!!! And the red tin is a Christmas blend of tea. (how did she know that I am a tea drinker!!)

yay! I'm so glad you like your presents, Bev. I am posting my photos this weekend--we've had some internet issues and I don't know what THAT's all about, but I have some time to play around this weekend and will post my lovelies from Cheryl.
