Ok so I sent a message to the Red Slipper chapter in Salina but hadn't heard back so I wanted to post on here as well.

Anyone in the Salina, Abilene, Junction City, Manhattan, area? I would love to get in touch with some of you.

Thanks,

Holly

Hello

Yes I do sew, not as often as I should, LOL. My sewing machine is about due for some upkeep. I have an older Pfaff that is in a cabinet, but I crochet, and that travels well. I also bake bake abke, so I could bring cake, or scones or whatever, LOL.

Yes I sew. Well - when I get my machine back I will! ;) Looks like September now. I can smock, quilt a bit, sew, knit a little and spin a little (drop spindel - my wheel needs help).

Holly and Amy,

Junction City is nearly the mid-point between McPherson and Lawrence---imagine that! Sorry, I've been offline for a bit. Do either of you sew? We could have a "stitch in".

Amy - that's ok! Glad to hear from you, I've been through McPherson. (Last time we lived here and a friend of mine at Fort Irwin has family attending college there!)

Karen - well that's ok! I have farming roots but have never actually lived on one - my sister owns a ranch in AZ does that count?! So far it looks like we will probably wind up living in town for at least the next couple of years. Gotta work on our debt so we can get what I want - it's been surprising to me how many small towns here don't want you to have chickens in your yard! We were in Lenexa last night for the 4th with mil, drove through Lawerence twice. We have 4 kiddos - 17,15,13 & 7.

Hope to chat with both of you more offline soon.

Holly

Holly,

Pleased to meet you.

Much to my chagrin, we are suburbanites--hubby works in Topeka, I work in KC---we just live in Lawrence. Fortunately, I get to reminisce about my semi-farmgirl upbringing via the website. We have 13-year old (lives with her mom) and 3 1/2-year old.

At this point, December might look OK--I teach at the Med Center and semester will be starting soon. Feel free to email me off the loop.

Thanks Kay that was sweet.

Karen, Lawrence isnt that far - only an hour or so. Glad to meet you and glad you found the loop! Currently we are "homeless" in Junction City, looking for a place to live. My heart was set on a small hobby farm type place but it doesn't look like that will happen just yet. SIGH. I've got 4 kiddos, we homeschool and hubby's in the Army (probably a given).

Let me know if you would like to get together sometime in the next year!

Blessings! Have a great day,

Holly

Come on ladies -- 37 hits and no replies?! I really would just like to get together/know some of you. Even if you don't live near Salina/Fort Riley.
