I have had THE BEST 40th birthday year.. Tonight is my 40th birthday party..I've been celebrating since January!!!I had a parade for myself today, which included painting all the windows in my car with things like, "HONK I'm 40!" "40 year old GODDESS on board!" You get the idea.. So much fun. BUT, BUT, BUT the greatest thing that happened today was when my husband came home from work about 3 hours early. I knew something was up!! the energy was high..the excitement was building all afternoon.. A girlfriend came over and just hung out while my pear preserves were cooking on the stove.. Around 4pm a great big giant truck/trailer pulled up to the house with a brand new John Deere tractor on it for me!! My cup runneth over!!!!! I have arrived and am so excited about the possibilities this has created for me, I can hardly contain myself! more on that later!! As I was getting an education on the operation of the tractor I noticed a gorgeous harvest moon rising.. breathtaking.. A really enchanting way to begin the end of what has been an extraordinary day!! My husband has just brought in some take out schezuan and we are going to dine! Happy happy to each of you!

oh my god!! these messages have cracked me up!! I was having an excellent post birthday day when I read these and NOW, well I'm on a happy high!! I've got pumpkin butter simmering on the stove getting ready for canning. This is the end of my harvest canning season. VERY nice!! Thank you all soooooo very much!! Carol, I will figure out how to post pictures and send some if I get some good ones. My husband managed to video tape the whole thing. Imagine the John Deere delivery guy pulling up to my house..wacky woman in wild multi-colored swirly 60's style print tights and black semi miniskirt with clogs..etc.. you get the idea.. not your typical John Deere customer I suspect..but you never know!! SOOO fun.. Went out there this morning and kissed it.. Rode around this afternoon with the kids..cute!! ahhhh farming..what a life!

Hi Julia -- Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!! I can picture it now -- a real tractor goddess! I think you should definitely post of photo of you and the tractor!

Happy Birthday Julia!!! I am with the others here, I can't believe you took time to share your excitement and the great surprise but then again I can cause I'd be bursting to tell everybody too!!! 
I am amazed you were not out plowing or doing the tractor Do-Se-Do all night long.
Your Hubby deserves the biggest thankyou you can give. I'd be in heaven with that gift to!

Oh wow!!! What a great birthday you had!!! You obviously approached the day with a positive attitude to begin with and created the day you'd hoped for. I think you would have had a great day anyway but the tractor was the icing on the cake! Have fun driving it!

Oh, happy days!!! You will have a a birthday everytime you start that thing up. That's the best surprise. What fun your husband must have had planning this all out and watching your face light up and seeing your excitement. I am excited for you, too! I couldn't believe you were on the forum after all that and not in the barn lot or field giving it a test run. Thanks so much for taking time to share your fun and excitement with us. OH MY GOSH! That is the best birthday present ever! Happy 40th birthday to you! If I got a tractor I'd never be able to get to sleep! I'd have to go just stand and look at it.

Ladies, I know!! I know!! I am so beside myself here!! It is all I can do not to go out to the barn and cuddle with it! HAHAHAHAHA My mind is just racing with ideas.. My husband, Doc, has been giggling all evening..rejoicing that he was able to pull off a big surprise but also that he's created some havoc in my head!! It's been such a fun day! Thanks for all the positive vibes.. I'm about to burst so I just had to share!!
