Posted - Apr 26 2007 : 4:20:44 PM Looking to buy a copy of the premier issue of Mary Jane's Farm magazine. Owned all of the issues at one point; had a generous streak and passed them on a year or so ago. Just ordered all available back issues but the premier issue is sold out.
Anyone interested in selling a copy? Or, perhaps someone would like to trade for some Small Farmer's Journal issues (Summer, Fall & Winter 2005)?
Hope to hear from someone soon!

Posted - Jan 08 2008 : 10:48:36 AM I was one of the unknowingly fortunate to get a premier issue, too, already so many years ago! When I read above that there had been one for sale at 400.00 (autographed) I went YIKES! I will never give mine up, I love to look at it over and over.
Hm....the DVD idea might be a good one!

There are about 20 names infront of yours, but some people might cancel. This is a slow process, I know, but it will be coming!!

Posted - Jan 08 2008 : 05:40:46 AM I was one of the lucky few that got to see the premier issue when it was making the rounds years ago. I know reprints are very expensive but how about putting all the back issues on a DVD. I'm sure many farmgirls would buy it. Other magazines, such as Mother Earth, do it. I prefer hard copies but a DVD is the next best thing. |

Just wondering where I was on the list. Also, what is the picture on the premiere issue? This would be good to know when I start going to yard sales again in the spring. You never know when some unknowing person will give a copy away. :o)
Thanks Vicki

Posted - Aug 22 2007 : 10:46:40 AM While MaryJane understands and is flattered by so many of us farmgirls wanting a reprint of the first issue- it just isn't going to happen at this point. Each magazine is a one-time only printing due to the prohibitive costs of printing the magazine. Each magazine issue takes months and months to produce, and printing costs alone are almost $100,000. And remember, she has been doing this all with out ads. And the $100,000 is just for printing costs- not labor or salaries for those who contribute or anything.
So thank you so much for your compliment to the Farm and to MaryJane herself. But if you would like to see the Premiere Issue, please sign up for the pass around. That way at least you will get to see it and it comes along with a journal so you can see what other people thought of it.
Thanks!
