Posted - Jul 01 2019 : 07:51:15 AM I am looking for tiger lily bulbs. My dear grandmother recently passed away and I want to plant some in her memory. I am hoping someone will have a couple to share. I can trade handmade cards, crochet dishcloths or let me know what you might want for them.
Thanks!

Posted - Sep 18 2019 : 01:47:05 AM Your welcome! A nice mix of sun and shade will do them good. Once they sprout in the spring give them water but let them drain in between watering. The snow will not bother the seeds at all however. Best to you! Annie

Posted - Jul 19 2019 : 10:48:21 AM Annie here, the black seeds grow at the base of each leaf group connected to the stock. After the tiger lily blooms in the late fall you can easily pick them off and plant them in one inch of soil and the following spring they will grow. Annie

Posted - Jul 08 2019 : 08:42:58 AM I bet they were beautiful Linda! They are such a unique flower. My great grandmother had them planted all around her house in Arkansas where my grandmother grew up. My grandparents had bulbs from her garden which grew in their garden and my mom moved some to Colorado when she moved here. They thrived in her garden until she moved up to the mountains and they did not survive the first winter at that elevation. I live near where she grew them when I was a child so they should thrive here. I have had a hard time finding them here, the garden centers take me to the specked asiatic Lilies, which are beautiful, but not this type of lily.

Posted - Jul 08 2019 : 04:58:10 AM Hi Annie, the lilies pictured are absolutely gorgeous! And the exact type I am looking for. I can definitely wait as it isn’t the right time to plant right now anyhow and I very much appreciate you making this offer! I would be happy to pay for postage. I will send you an email with my personal info. Thank you again, I am so excited!
Sarah

Posted - Jul 07 2019 : 9:17:19 PM Hi Sarah, I have planted tiger lilies in my garden. I discovered them just a few years ago when I saw one on the side of a lake. I had to know what it was and now I have a whole bed of baby lilies growing and one mature stock that I purchased as bulb. I am amazed at how easy they grow and they are so spectacular. I cannot send you a bulb but in the fall they get their black seeds on the stalk and I plant these seeds right away. They winter over in the soil and even the deep snow doesn't seem to bother them and in the spring they begin to grow and get their blossoms in the summer. I have to plant them inside fencing as the deer will chomp off the tops easily. After I harvest the seeds and in late fall I cut them back to the ground. If you can wait until later this year send me your mailing address I am happy to send you a packet of the seeds for free. I really need nothing in exchange or return. This stalk pictured below is now 3 years old and grows to over 7 feet tall. Best to you, Annie
