I am looking for vintage buttons not just mother of pearl. Willing to trade or pay. If you have some let me know what you want and I might be able to find it since my sewing room is much more organized now.

Sunshine - I mailed out an envelope full of buttons to you on Saturday. Hope you find something in there you can use. - Janice

Sunshine, I am going through my tins and jars and boxes. I know there are a few kitshy/pretty plastic ones. I remember one on particular that is clear plastic, large, with these sparkles in it. I can't promise more than that, but since I have not used it yet, you are more than welcome to it.. Most of these old ones are the metal ones and small white and black ones from buttong down type shirts.

try eBay! http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&from=R10&satitle=vintage+buttons&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=23901&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=
There are quite a few, and I think rather reasonably priced

Hmm... I will have to see. I know my son keeps his favorites in a special jar. I ended up buying black jet ones at the antique store. Occasionally I can find a bargain there, but her prices have gone up and they are rare to find anymore.. I will keep my eyes open.

mostly I have tins of the old ones cut off of baasic clothing from family members. Nothing fancy or too interesting.

I think that most people will have a hard time parting with their fancy vintage buttons. They're getting so few and far between anymore.

I collect jars of old buttons and use them in as many ways as I can. I'm curious to know what you are looking for as well. I don't have any that are terribly fancy. Lots of black and white, but I have other colors as well. Just let me know!!

Blessings,

Missy

Hi, Sunshine. What are you looking for in particular? Really fancy ones, plain ones cut from old clothes? I just picked up some at a local antique store, and i can check back for more.
