I have a tsp of milk keifer grains if anyone is interested. It will make a pint of keifer in 24 hours and more each day. Would like to barter for something small. Let me know what you have to offer.

You drink a whole pint??? Wow. Can you tell a lot of difference in the way you feel now, as opposed to before you began.

Kelly, my first batch was thin and not very tasty. But the second batch is awesome. I may drink too much. I only have about 1/3 -1/2 cup at a time, but is twice or three times a day too much?

Marilyn
When I started a year ago the first two or three rounds did not suit my taste so I fed it to my cats and sprayed some on squash plants to ward off powdery mildew. By the fourth pint it was thicker, very effervescent, and tangy. From that point I loved it. You will notice 24 hours is too long a fermentation in this Texas heat. So I start checking around 8 hours and keep a close watch for thickening to occur. As winter comes along it takes much longer, so 24 hour fermentation is needed.

That is what I asked for and my jar is resting on the cabinet with its contents doing it's thing. I love buttermilk and the kefir I purchased reminded me of that taste. I guess this will be different, but still have a tangy sort of taste. Is that right. Do you do anything to your first batch to make it taste more like you enjoy it or just drink it?

I use regular organic cows milk. Just because I am not a fan of goats milk.

Ok. I watched a couple of the you tube videos. I am excited. My husband and granddaughter have run to town and hopefully will have some GOOD milk for me to use when they return.

Marilyn..... Terrific please do keep in mind that it may take a couple days of brewing before gets acclimated to the way your making it plus its shipping stress.

Keifer is fermented milk. The probiotics in the drink are wonderful. I have been drinking it for a year and love it. Here's a link you might be interested in https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m8VBshh1uE0&feature=youtu.be#
