Here is a link to a Knitters Coffee Swap that is originating in my home state...there is just one spot left as of this morning. Any Farmgirls want to sign up?

Sounds like we should put this on the back burner until January or so!

I'm always open to more knitting swaps, but will have to bow out until the holidays pass. I'm already involved in two swaps and that's about all I can handle plus making holiday gifts. If you are thinking of a "send-by" date for sometime in January, I'm in. Otherwise, I'll catch the next one!

I wasn't sure about Swap Bot either until I heard from other friends about the fun they'd had with it. My Hot Socks Swap had a blog (hot-socks-swap.blogspot.com) that the hostess from the Swap Bot swap started up so we all kept in touch there. Swap Bot has a rating system too, so most hostesses/hosts will kick people out if they've been poorly rated in the past. Sometimes people get burned I guess. (But hasn't that happened with swaps right here on MJF too?)

I got to send my Hot Socks package to Norway and mine came from Texas. Just another cool way to keep up with knitters via blogging and sharing the one thing we all love...YARN!

I'm hesitant to sign up for something when I don't know the people. Would anyone be interested in a modified one? Maybe do a coffee/tea/hot chocolate and knitting swap but put a money limit on it. I could coordinate if we got enough interest!

Cool Kathy! I'm glad to have another Farmgirl participate! (Knittymama, the organizer of this one, is a member of our local "Urban Farmgirls" group here and there are a few more Urban Farmgirls in the mix too!)

Julia, I think Knittymama is planning to do another one in the spring, so I'll definitely keep you posted. There is a coffee/knitting swap on www.swap-bot.com running right now though too...check it out!

Oh, Catherine, I was the one who got into the coffee swap. Thanks so much for the heads up here. I can hardly wait!

I'd like to do a knitting swap anytime too - I like the sock yarn and tea idea (I don't drink coffee!! although hubby does). Maybe after Christmas is over.
Best wishes,
Jayne

Sorry Farmgirls! The spot must have filled up quickly this afternoon (I think there are something like 54+ knitters involved!).

I'm always up for a knitting swap if anyone wants to get one going. Have you tried www.swap-bot.com? There are tons of cool swaps there too, I just did a "Hot Socks Swap" from there involving sock yarn, tea and...chocolate! So fun.

Looks like a lot of fun! We should do a swap like that here! Coffee and knitting swap - add a little chocolate and I would be in HEAVEN! LOL
