Posted - Sep 27 2006 : 06:27:49 AM I haven't been here long, but I've sure noticed how many talented 'crafters' there are. And in the spirit of all the fun giveaways, I'd like to jump in. I have a copy of "Christmas With Southern Living"(1984 Oxmoor House-155 pages). It is a beautiful hard back book with tons of color photos and lots of crafting how to's with the patterns in the back(patterns would have to be scanned or copied). The Victorian cloth doll(braided hair) is my favorite. I wish I had the talent to make something so cute! There are even patterns to make her bed and christmas tree shown in the picture. There are also many recipes. I'm also adding a nice vintage christmas apron. 'Merry Christmas' is written across it in several languages and it has a border of candles, greenery and ornaments across the bottom. And a front pocket, of course! If anyone is interested, I'll keep track of names and have a drawing on October 12th.

Posted - Oct 02 2006 : 12:47:14 PM Yes, Jenny, you're in, too. This plumbing thing is huge for us. We started out just trying to restore the old farmhouse. Then we decided to add two rooms on the back. Then a second floor....So to finally FINISH something will be amazing! Of course, I'll still keep the outhouse. None of my city friends believe that I like it!!

Posted - Oct 02 2006 : 12:29:33 PM I am moving my deadline date to this coming Wednesday, Oct. 4th. When I get to work, I'm going to empty the contents of the candy bowl(I work at a community college and between the students and the faculty we eat LOTS of candy - no mere 'dish' for us. We need a BOWL!!) and get the division chairman to draw the winner's name. Never having done this before, I think I made my deadline too long. The next time, I'll just do one for a week. Also, my dh and I have a chance to go out of town Friday - next Wednesday and (hopefully) run plumbing pipe from the well pump to the house! Indoor plumbing!! Hooray! I'll be able to get the winner's package in the mail on Thursday morning. :)
