Posted - Apr 04 2011 : 5:08:50 PM I am cleaning! And in doing so, realized I have a ton of old *old* books, some I cannot even find a copyright date.
I can provide a list and pictures, but was wanting to know if anyone is interested first. As for bartering, just let me know what you have.

Posted - Apr 06 2011 : 11:20:55 AM Okay, I am going to start listing these as I find time (and energy). If something sounds sparks your interest let me know and I will try to post pictures or give you as much information as possible.
Mother Carey's Chickens by Kate Douglas Wiggin ~ this book is in great shape for its age. The last copyright date is 1911. At one time, it appears someone left a handwritten message on the inside of the back cover. However, it was done in pencil and you can barely see it now. The book is about a 4 X 6, is 356 pages which are yellowed and has a few pictures throughout the story.
The Prince and the Pauper by Samuel L. Clemens ~ this book is beginning to come apart and the back cover is gone. I cannot find a copyright, but I believe it is probably from the late 40's to early 50's. It is very yellowed and the pages feel "dry". It definitely needs lots of TLC. It consist of 252 pages and I believe they are all there.
Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer's Comrade ~ the last copyright date is 1955, written in Roman Numerals, so I had to find a conversion chart to make sure of the date.;) This book is well worn, but I believe it is all there. It has an illustrated front and back cover, typical of the 50's.
Air Age Education Series, the Science of Pre-Flight Aeronautics for High Schools, by Aviation Education Research Group Teachers College, Columbia University ~ the copyright is 1942. This book is in excellent condition for its age. It is over 800 pages, with lots of graphs, maps and a few fold-out maps. Would make an awesome Fathers' Day gift for someone who is an aviation buff!
Lassie Come Home, by Eric Knight ~ I cannot find a copyright date, I believe it is from the early 50's. While I plan on letting this book go, the boys have ask if we could read it together one more time. So it will be available early summer. Just thought I would go ahead and list it. The condition is "fair" and it is all there.
Prairie Songs by Pam Conrad ~ copyright 1985. This book is in excellent shape. It is written on about a 5th to 6th grade level. It is illustrated by Darryl S. Zudeck (pencil or charcoal drawings), 167 pages.
I'll be adding to this list from time to time. If you see something you are interested in or would like to see pictures of, let me know. Most of the books I'll be listing are from library sales, with a few from either thrift stores or garage sales.
Thanks for looking! ~ Cheryl
