I'm not yet ready for goats either,firstly we'll need to get our home and land..hopefully we'll have gotten to that point by Christmas next year.But fiber goats are something I'd certainly want to know more about. Your pricing seems very reasonable. Do you have a website?I too would like to keep you in mind..only thing is I'd be in Georgia by then.Anyhow..I hope your new little babies find good homes.

Frannie, do you have a website? I'm not yet ready for goats but may be looking for some later on. I'd like to keep you in mind, if you plan to sell some later on... (I may be moving up your way, so it'd be nice to know someone else with goats...) |

thanks for the chance to talk about my goats.
i think the angoras are pretty easy to take care of.
they are pretty smart? and social. they are good around the grandkids, 2and4. and they help around the farm.
by that i mean, they keep down poison oak and ivy, some say they keep down snakes, their fiber is beautiful and they are fun to watch.
they can cost up to 300.00 each, but we want to get 150-100 each depending on sex and coloration.
right now we have 5 babies:
1 black male, 1 taupe colored female, 1 white male, 1 black female with white outlined face and taupe belly, she's a cutie, and one kind of dark apricot color with lighter face. she looks like a baby calf!
the angorqas have to be sheared twice a year and the hooves need to be trimmed as needed.
i have had other types of goats and the angoras suit me just fine. i think you have to find animals that suit your needs and beliefs.
im not a vegetarian, but i do not raise animals that have to be killed to make money. since the angoras are a fiber goat that works just fine. i love the idea of a dairy goat but i think the labor is too intensive for us at this time.

Angora goats are so cute! I saw my first picture of one on the tube last week. Is it hard to take care of them? I love their wool. How much do they usually cost? Thanks for replying. bb

Angora goats! How lovely!!! I hope they all find wonderful homes. What color/colors are their wool? I wasn't sure whether or not all blue-eyed angora goats would have white wool...
