Will someone please barter something I have (tell me what you need, I have all kinds of stuff!!) for a oil lamp wick?! One of those typical oil lamp wicks... does anyone have one?? I can't find them here! Yes, I've looked. Agh! I have a great oil lamp WITH the oil sitting on my dining room table and no wick!

Someone please help! lol

I am so sorry Brooke I have been sick but if you still need the wick send me your address and I will mail it out ASAP. I also sent you an email just in case you don't see this.

I also collect oil lamps, I have an extra package that I picked up at Big R. If you still need a wick, e-mail me (deepoe@msn.com) i'll send it to you. I know they are hard to find.

Patricia, I have tractor supply. I keep forgetting about that. I can only go there when I visit my moms place though, but if Lorie can help me out, that would be great!

Brooke I have an extra wick if you still need one. I bought several a few months back since I collect oil lamps. Let me know if you still need one.

I tried Wal-mart and they don't have any except for some tiny wicks for outside lanterns! We don't have K-Mart here anymore either.

Ohhh! I FORGOT about LEHMAN'S ....How did I do that? *smacks forehead*

Karrieann - Aha!! duh on me...it's round! LOL

Brooke, If you look at the thingy where the wick comes out of... is it round or flat line like?

:o)

The Lehmans catalog (lehmans.com) carries both flat and round wicks, and they are a great company to deal with if you aren't familiar with them. They carry all kinds of old-timey stuff -mostly non-electric.

I get mine at the local hardware store. I bet you could find them online at The Vermont Country Store.

I'll look around to see if I still have some. I'm surprised you haven't been able to find any - I usually get mine at Wal-Mart or K-Mart!

I think it's probably flat braid style ... I am not very knowledgeable about oil lamps (I can always learn! lol) but it's a very typical run-of-the-mill oil lamp top .... lol... my guess it's from early 1900's to the 30's... it's quite farmhouse style.. clear glass base...

... I'll look and see if I can find any in my town. Is it round wick or flat braid style?
