Hi all, I find myself needing things I can't quite afford right now, and wanting a lot of things I can't get!
I love real stone jewelery, would love to get in touch with a wood worker to design and get a couple neat gadgets for my weaving, need some herb starts and love heirloom seeds, need a good cheese press, sausage stuffer, and maybe some things I won't know until I see/hear about them! lol,
I have handwoven rag rugs, I'm a 3rd gen weaver, and I have my Grandma's loom and do it the old fashioned way--- tear the rags, sew them end to end, wind into a ball, then warp the loom, choose the rags that best match the warping, and weave rugs. I usually weave in a twill pattern, but sometimes just plain, sometimes fancier. If you'd like a carpet, let me know about how long, and I'll try to get a picture of what I have in that length. I do charge retail $1.50/inch, and before you choke, that's about 5 cents/hr. lol, I don't do that for money, I do it because I enjoy it!
The rovings you can see on my etsy shop, http://knit1tat2.etsy.com and I will custom knit wrist warmers, socks, etc. especially if you are a difficult fit for some reason (amputation, etc.). Charge for that depends on item, yarn used, etc. but I love a good barter, so dream of what you'd like from me, and tell me what you have that I'd like! The above list is just a start, so let's see what we can do!
Keep smiling, it makes folks wonder what you've been up to! Lorna Jean

Hi, Lorna Jean. I am sorry to be late getting back to you about heirloom seeds. I want to list my seeds I have for barter so you and the other sistahs can see what I have. I might have a shopping disorder.....Where the seeds are true heirlooms, I will specify, most seeds are from Seeds of Change and Territorial Seed Company: heirloom yellow crookneck squash, heirloom tomato "Mortgage lifter," heirloom tomato "yellow perfection," heirloom tomato "Persimmon," bush beans, kale, cilantro (from Botanical interests, nice company), salad mesclun, micro greens mild mix, winter squash "Long Island Cheese," sweet pepper California Wonder kale dwarfed blue curled, kale Russian Red, white bunching onions, parsnips, collards (this one is a hybrid), mustard greens, tai sai chinese cabbage, wild garden chicory, traditional tepary bean "Somoran Gold Bush" these are native to sonoran desert drought tolerant, chamomile, Golden Bantam sweet corn this is open pollinated, bush beans, Black Beauty zucchini, special: Roodnerf open pollinated brussel sprouts (one of the last open pollinated in existence), bok choi, lettuce various kinds, chives, broccoli "health Plus", turnip Golden Ball, miner's lettuce, broccoli raab, swiss Chard, heirloom sugar pumpkins (these did GREAT...), medicinal American Skullcap (sedative properties).
Depending on how many seeds I have, we can either split packages or you can get a whole one. I have found that often I don't plant the whole packet, anyway. so we will be more thrift splitting some packages. For example, I planted one hill of the sugar pumpkins and got 9 pumpkins from one plant....! Virginia

Hi Virginia, the cheese press and rings sound good. Can you get pictures to me somehow? Or descriptions? And I'm slow on the computer lately, between it having it's tantrums, and me being busy, I do plan on getting to the prairieland herbs site, and girlwithasward too, I've heard that somewhere. Bless my short memory! Hey gals, I just added two new sock patterns on my etsy store, too. Oh yes, what heirloom seeds do you have, Virginia? I like green and wax beans, peppers (sweet), greens, root crops, potatoes, cole crops, and fruits! thanks all, Lorna Jean

I don't necessarily have any of the things you are looking for, but I am always up for bartering for roving. If there's anything on either of my websites that you'd like to barter for, let me know- prairielandherbs.com, girlwithasword.etsy.com. I also have lots of homemade jams and some pickes that would be up for barter. Thanks!
