For trade: Sorgarden by Anna Maria Roos, copyright 1912, this copy printed in Hungary 1967, 195 pages. This children's book is written in Swedish. I think it's a primer: in the first part, each page is devoted to a letter of the alphabet, then a list of words with that letter, then a short piece to read. The last part of the book are children's rhymes and short pieces. There's a few color illustrations by Brita Ellstrom and lots of black and white illustrations of life in the country and childhood scenes by B. Ellstrom, Ingeborg Udden, Stina Beck-Friis. Original dustjacket shows some wear and tear, but has a mighty cute illustration of a house and a forget-me-not arch. Spine tight; pages clean and good; just two pages are a little crumpled up -- some Swedish baby got ahold of them!

Anyway, this book needs to go to someone with Swedish heritage -- hopefully someone who can read Swedish. I'd like in trade handmade soaps or candles; vintage buttons; vintage paper ephemera . . . or let me know what you have to trade.

Thanks!

Hi Diane -- Sorry, I did get one message from you (to which I responded) but not a second one. I've written you another email this morning; look for my message in your junk folder if you don't get it right away -- my hotmail address usually sends things to the junk file along with the refinance and 'enlargement' messages! I'll send your book out today via media mail (slow boat to China). My address is on the charm square list and also in my email. I love stuff of all kinds, so paper (I make vintage-look greeting cards and ATCs) or buttons (red vintage?) or fabric (vintage 30s/40s look) . . . whatever you want to send. Let's get this done!!

Katie, I've sent two messages thru the Mary Jane system...did you get them? Sometimes I don't think it works so good.

What kind of vintage paper ephemera do you like ( you may have hit the motherlode lol) or what kind of buttons...or ?

Sounds like a delightful book! Whoever swaps for it I'm sure will enjoy it.

Some people search for happiness; others create it.
