Posted - May 03 2009 : 9:06:08 PM Hi all,
Helping grandma clean up grandpa's workshop, he's been gone about 8 years now...time to clean.
Anyway, got quite a few tobacco tins. They are probably from about 65-72 ish. Some have lids (plastic) and others do not.
Anyone interested or have ideas about how to use them ??
Got photos last night, all cans look like this one, some still have the plastic lid, others don't. There are about 10 of them. Check out photos here.... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=67806&id=706297698&saved#/album.php?aid=67806&id=706297698 |

The cloths are wonderful. Your tins should be on their journey to you!

Posted - May 17 2009 : 9:30:12 PM Have plastic lids that fit all of them but can't be sure that some of them might not have come with plastic lids. They all say "easy open top" and none of them have UPC/Bar Codes on them. |

Posted - May 17 2009 : 9:14:34 PM Do you have any that does not have the UPC code on them? And any without the plastic lid? I have a picture of a few of my tins on my blog or I think I do. An older post of my tobacco tins on a yellow shelf, ck them out.

Posted - May 13 2009 : 4:04:58 PM Cindy.....fresh eggs would be wonderful!! or lunch of course! Haven't had fresh eggs in awhile and I love to bake and there is not much better than farm fresh eggs! |
Mother Hen |
Posted - May 13 2009 : 1:51:34 PM Bridgette, I'm sorry but I don't crochet washcloths and I can't knit(stitches way too tight to make anything).
How about something unconventional.....what if I buy your lunch when we meet? Would that work for you? Or, I could bring you farm fresh eggs from our chickens instead? Or, I could bring you some of our range fed ground beef from our freezer? We have more options since we can meet to make the exchange. You let me know if you are interested in any of the offers above or if you have any other ideas as to what you would want in exchange.

not sure, my photos should be available to be seen by all, if you have facebook or not, but maybe I don't have them marked right. I love your idea, would be super cute, I just don't have the space for all of them.

Instead of recycling, why not punch holes in the bottom and use them as little planters? Just a thought . . . .

Posted - May 13 2009 : 06:22:07 AM Cindy,
They are all pretty much the same age as the one pictured. I'm guessing at from 65-70 since that's about the time he still smoked a pipe.
As far as trade goes, I'm not sure. Do you crochet or knit cotton washcloths??
If you decide you are interested, we could meet up one time when you come to Costco and not mail. Would be fun! |
