Hey everyone. I am looking to barter for a small papermaking kit. I want to try making my own paper for cardmaking and was hoping someone could help me out. I do machine embroidery, knitting, crocheting etc so if you have something in mind let me know. Oh, did I mention I am a book hound as well so might have something for you. Thanks and hope everyone is having a great day.

Tami, that would be great thanks! Am also going down cellar to see if I can put my hands on some old books I had to see if there is something in there. It's hard because the DH likes to move stuff around constantly down there, I may never find them! LOL

Lori...Let me look at my book stash I think I have a couple I would be willing to share if that works instead of a kit. Let me know and I will have more info about the books.

Hello Lori,
i took a class once on paper making and it was quite easy and fun.
we took scapes of paper, tore them up into small pieces and put them in the blender (find one at the thrift store for this) add water and buzzed it up.
then poured it out onto screens where the water seeped out and whent he paper was sort of moulded, we turned it out to dry a day before using.

You can add pieces of colorful papers, bits of this and that to make the paper come out in a creative way.

sorry this is a sloppy explaination but just wanted to say you don't really need a "kit"
maybe find a good book at the libray to show more "how to"

Your Pal,
BeckySue

Thank you! I was just thinking that this morning but have been gone all day. I may just take the time to do the research and come up with something I can do here. As Always this group of ladies has been so helpful!

You don't need a kit. I mean buy one if you like but here are some easy instructions for doing it in a can and with a frame.

Hi Lori- If you don't find it at your Wal-Mart- let me know. I am thinking of getting one for us anyway as I think it will be fun for Nora later.

Alee, thanks for letting me know. I have to go to town tomorrow anyway and will look at the local Walmart to see what they have. Didn't even think about the kids section. I wanted to give it a try without a lot of investment to see if it would give me the look I wanted. You are always so helpful! Have a great evening.

Lori- At our local Wal-Mart they had paper making kits for $3 in the clearance section. They are geared towards kids and are the "Bill Nye the Science Guy" brand. Not sure if that is what you want? It has some templates for different shaped paper like squares, hearts and circles. I could go pick one up for you if you would like.
