I live in a small town and I discovered the victory garden that has been going since 1945. I am thinking very serious about getting a plot, but my knowledge in gardening is limited to almost none. The mgr said everyone would help so.........Now i am trying to figure out if I had time. I want to have that old earth therapy feeling.
so girlfriends what do you think?

Suzie that's awesome!! Gardening is definitely my therapy - I went a little cuckoo last year when the weather kept me from it:)

Okay girlfriends I signed up for my plot and guess what it is only $20 a year and they supply water, tools, seeds, and a kick in the hiney to get going. I just love people who love the Earth therapy that keeps us sane.

Oh and Crockett's Victory Garden is a wonderful book about growing a Victory garden! I notice a lot of the gardening books at my local library are actually geared towards flowers.

Check out some books at your library, that should help round out your knowledge, then go for it!

Suzie - that's awesome, are there people who have been gardening there for years and years? What a fabulous opportunity to learn some things!! My first year gardening I knew absolutely nothing and had noone to ask. I've read a bunch of books since then and read stuff here but I think you're always learning.
I say go for it, I am envious of the opportunity!!

I think that would be a great idea, Suzie! Check out the section of the forum called "Garden Gate" There is lots of old topics about gardening and lots of fresh discussions popping up all the time!
