I am hosting Farmgirl Blessings Chapter meeting on the 3rd of April and I wanted to have a sewing type swap. Up to 20 farmgirls would bring fabric swatches, notions, lace etc to trade. Not everyone sews. I am not sure how to make this work sucessfully. Any ideas on an easy way to do this?

My scrapbooking friends do something similar. We offer up business-sized envelopes full of ephemera & embellishments. I offer mine, someone says, "I'll take Pam's. Who would like mine?"
They're fun because the items are a surprise - and no one offers up anything they wouldn't want to use themselves.

Kinda like Cindy's idea, but use Easter as the theme and everyone brings an Easter basket to trade....or I know this might not be what you are going for, a Secret Easter Bunny Trade. Everyone gets a name and preps a basket for their person. So the one's who don't sew get a craft basket, or a garden basket....

Karen- I've never been to one of these, but what if everyone had to bring enough of "whatever" to fill a cereal bowl, or a soup bowl that way there would be the same amount. Or even a small box, whatever.

What we have done at spin-in's here is have everyone bring something for a "freebie" table and if you see something you'd like, you take it. Some items are related to sewing or fiber arts and some aren't. Most items disappear from the table and everyone is satisfied it seems.

Swaps are hard.. we have done several here, but they are hard to make sure everyone feels they got an even swap.... But, I know you you will figure it out and it will be brilliant, no doubt!
