I have an extra Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery to barter (I am up for anything) This is a brand new book. When she visited a couple years back I bought several to use for wedding gifts and this is the last one..I thought it would be more fun to make sure it gets a good home with a farmgirl. I love this book..it has tons of info and lists of resources and recipes...sort of a must have. If you are interested just email and let me know what you would like to trade.

She was such a sweetheart and I feel blessed to have known her. She and her husband stayed with us for 3 days their last visit to this area..and one night the year before. It is so sad that she died so young. She had the most humble, quiet serene personality! I miss her.
It is amazing to me the information she gathered and compiled in her lifetime and her style of writing is so friendly and sweet. When she was last here she spent an afternoon visiting with me and helping me weed the garden. I like to think of her that way..just a sweet "neighborly gal in the garden". She had a rough life in alot of ways but I think she was very happy at the end. If any of you get a chance to read her book (it is BIG and takes awhile) you will love it.

Dear Farm Girls

I hate to bring sad news but were you all aware that Carla died in October, 2005? If you go into "google" and type in Carla Emery Obituary you can read about her life. It seems that she had been ill for awhile.
