If you have any of these plants and could send a cutting, my mom (Sage) and I would be willing to barter or pay postage!

Curly (Curling) Willow
Grape Vine (Concord or maybe other eating varieties/canning)
White Honeysuckle

We could set up a trade, just let us know what you might be looking for. Between the two of us we might have what you want or need!

Kim-

MaryJane grows Garlic, not society garlic. They are actually two different plants. The Garlic flower stalk- actually a scape- curls natural as it grows.

Debi-

I traded for starts for the curly willow- so mine won't be big enough to share starts from for several years and I don't have any lavender growing yet. I would suggest ordering some Lavender seeds online or seeing if one of the nurseries has a plant left.

Alee if you think I can grow Lavendar here I would love to try. I could not find any here, wondering around looking. And I would love to have a start or two or curly willow. What do you want in trade?

Deb; I'm so glad the you like the necklace. It is one of my new fused glass pieces. I use leaves and tiny branches in some of them and the others are designed with layers of different types and colors of glass. Each piece is cut by hand, fired in a kiln up to 1480 degrees, shaped with a grinder and then fired again. Sage :)

Society garlic is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial with narrow, grayish green leaves and large clusters of lavender or lilac flowers. The plant looks like an especially showy garlic or garlic chives plant. Society garlic has just 4-9 grasslike leaves, each about a foot long and a half-inch wide. The leaves grow straight up out of a swollen underground rhizome that looks like a corm or bulb. A single 2 ft (0.6 m) scape (flowering stalk) grows up from the center of the rosette of leaves. Atop the scape sits a large umbel (flower cluster in which all the pedicels (flower stems) originate from the same point) of sweet-scented lilac-pink flowers. The flowers are tubular, expanding to six pointed stars at their ends. They are a little less than an inch long and wide, and there are 8-20 of the dainty little flowers in each umbel. The blossoms are produced sporadically from early summer until late autumn. The leaves and rhizomes of society garlic smell like garlic, but the flowers are sweet, smelling like hyacinths, and some people say they are too sweet! The cultivar, 'Silver Lace' (a.k.a. 'Variegata') has larger flowers and leaves with cream stripes. 'Tricolor' has pink and white variegations.

The leaves taste like garlic as you chew them and have a pleasant spiciness! I cooked a shoulder of lamb with them and it was amazing!

Deb; Thanks so much! I am very excited because the little grape vine arrived yesterday and is now in my garden. I hope it will grow enough to eventually cover my ugly fence and give us some grapes.

Alee, My girls are telling me that they "think" they're sour.... they can't remember from last year. I'll ask hubby when he gets home tonight.

Deb; I would love a cutting of the grape vine. The greenhouses don't have any right now and I don't want to wait until next year to get one started. What would you like in exchange. Sage:)

Pam, oh, I don't know. Something little. Surprise me.

Send me your address. I'll see if I can dig up a piece today. We got a nice rain last night so the ground should be easy to work.

Kristine! The curling willow is already sending out little rootlets! I am so excited!

I have grape vine. I don't know the variety. Green grapes, my children go crazy eating them! They do have seeds.

Perhaps I could dig up a cutting.

I think you just cut a growing branch and put them in water until they root? You Extension office agent should be able to help out though.
