Hi girls.... I haven't been on in a while, but I am back. My daughter (who graduated high school last June) is pregnant, and wants to use cloth diapers. The ones that look like store bought with velcro. I have been looking around, and am amazed at what people want on ebay. If anyone has any that they no longer use or would just want to barter,,,please let me know. I have MANY aprons, and things that I would be willing to trade. ....Oh man, have I missed you all... Mary Jane

Posted - May 30 2008 : 1:10:57 PM I may have some diaper wraps, but I am not sure this is what you are looking for! These go over a cloth diaper. I have also taken cloth diapers and cut them to more of the shape of a disposable one and added elastic around the leg and they worked really well. I do have a fairly simple pattern for the wraps. If you are still looking please get in touch with me and maybe I could make some for you!! |

Posted - Apr 08 2008 : 08:15:43 AM For those of you with kids who don't want to use used stuff....I make plenty of $ to buy new, but I choose not to. You use everything for 2-3 months and then the babe moves on to other stuff.
I have a handful of newborn cloth diapers I'd be willing to barter.
What do I need: shade garden seeds, birdfeeders, I'd take a cool apron for my mom, jewelery, organizers, baskets...

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 3:50:26 PM Nana Mode????? The hospital here would not offer a picture of the ultrasound, and I was with her. Anyway for the second appointment and ultrasound, Nana went with digital camera in hand and politely advised that I would be taking pictures, so to please freeze the picture on the computer....lol Well, I did get 27 pictures of my grandbaby (Not even here yet) Can you imagine when the little bundle does arrive? I am gonna have soooooo much fun!

Hmmm, I think I will make that my new slogan.

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 2:09:21 PM MJ, Same here. I talked with my son and told him rummage sale season is upon us and I would start looking for baby items. At first he wasn't to happy. But when we sat down and did his finances and took his 17% off his $10.00 an hour job for child support and then looked at the Target and Kohls sales ad he had a different out look. I promised him when Nana was done with them no one would know that they were slightly used. Your Grand will arrive first so let me know how it goes and how you handle it. It scares my to death but on the other hand I am very excited. Must be starting into the Nana mode.

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 07:17:52 AM Hi Betty Jo Faith is due on June 21. When she first found out, I think she hesitated to tell me, but I remained calm, and told her that I was here for her. I showed her just how excited I was by filling up my dining room in a matter of days with baby things. Car seats, sleepers, jolly jumpers, changing table, and even a crib. She just smiled and asked if I really wanted a grandchild. Everything is used but well kept, and I told her that she will appreciate everything when she starts to know the costs of it all. Yes, all Nanas will have to stick together,,,the farm way... MJ

Posted - Apr 06 2008 : 08:34:04 AM Mary Jane, I'm in the same place in my life as yours. Only it's my son and his X (?) girlfriend. Her family and his dad just railed on them about the situation. I found it heartbreaking. As how do you yell at two kids who are facing a monumental challenge that they really are not ready for or have any concept of what is really happening. I was also hurt and angry but when all is said and done. It's a baby, God's gift of life. So us Nana's will just have to stick together. I almost wish it was my daughter as then I would be guaranteed to have visitation. That worries me the most not being able to spend time with the little one. When is your daughter due?

Posted - Apr 03 2008 : 2:48:16 PM I was just checking some patterns out. I have not been sewing for a great many years....guess it is time to get back into it. I was hurt at first when I was told I was gonna be a nanny, but I have gotten rather excited. I feel as though she is not the first young girl, and certainly won't be the last. This is my first biological grandchild, and I am gonna make the best of it..... You cannot move in my dining room for baby stuff, so I am about to move some to my daughter's house as to make room for more....lol MJ
