I did it, I found my memory card!!!

The first photo shows the color more accurately, but the flash makes it too "shiny" when I got up close to show the dimensions more accurately. Think "cornflower"...The pitcher measures 8 1/2 inches high and 4 inches wide at the mouth of the pitcher. It's a bit larger at the base, of course. Nice for lemonades or ice teas--a pretty herbal tea with floating lemons etc would be lovely!

Thanks, Nance--I love that piece. I've taken some other photos of it and I'll post them for you (now that I have my memory card :))...It's a quilted piece, simple quilting, but the embroidery is absolutely stunning. I've had it dated to about 1880, and the embroidery thread is hand dyed--there is great variation in color. It's initials of some sort, but they really don't "mean" anything as far as I can tell...no rhyme or reason for them. Just large 8 x 8 embroidered old english style lettering with lovely flowers and leaves.

That is one beautiful piece! It would be a perfect piece for holding wildflowers too! Wish I had been among the first to vie for it. Best wishes!

Blessings, Lea
