Posted - Oct 15 2007 : 12:17:31 PM I have never used this. I got it at flea a couple of summers ago and it just sits in my craft room. it's the perfect little lap size for making small rugs. I can take photos if interested. I like all sorts of things, so if you want it, let me know what you want to trade for.
I imagine it is worth a bit more than I paid for it, so a comparable trade would be a nice thing ;) it comes with the instruction book too.

Posted - Nov 01 2007 : 09:52:16 AM Sunshine, I missed your post about the stand for the loom. Here's a link to the Ashford site. They are in New Zealand. http://www.ashford.co.nz/weaving/weaving-frameset.htm I just assume your husband is handy, because you are so talented...but that is just an assumption on my part. the stand doesn't look too complicated. If you want to buy one, there are dealers in the US. I bought my loom from my friend in Ramona, CA and can put you in touch with her if you like. I am by no means an expert on the loom, but if you have any questions, feel free to email me. You should be able to figure out everything from the instruction book. One tip: be sure to use Very Strong yarn for the warp, as you have to pull it tight with a lot of tension, and if it breaks, it is a pain to try to tie it back together. Luckily I found this out on a sample project. If white works for your warp color, then you can use string. I think it is Aunt Lydia's big roll of string that I got at Joann's and if you get it on sale it is way cheap, and it is strong. I am going to use it for the rug project I have in my head. Well, enjoy, and let me know how you like it! Judy

Posted - Oct 31 2007 : 7:25:32 PM arrived today nice halloween treat when I got home from school which was good as I am room mom of three classes at two differnt schools who all had their halloween parties today at the same time. I could bounce between two rooms to keep them going but the third every 10 minuets i had to call my husband to tell him what to do next as he went at the last second to help me so it was a crazy day but I think all the kids had fun.
have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe my bloghttp://sunshinescreations.vintagethreads.com/ my web store http://vintagethreads.com/ |

Posted - Oct 15 2007 : 3:31:12 PM Oh, Sunshine, I have one of these and it is so fun to use. The most time consuming thing is setting up the warp, but it is WAY easier than a jack loom. This is called a rigid heddle loom as well as a lap loom, and if you have the room, you can buy, or DH can build, a stand for it. I have made scarves and shawls with it, but have the yarn and "intention" to make rugs. You can also make two matching lengths of shawl and then sew them together for a poncho or "ruana" type of wrap. I think you'll enjoy it. Congratulations! Judy
