Searching for yarn... short version of the long story. I am doing a yarn drive. My mother makes and donates afghans, hats and mittens, lap blankets to the poor and needy. Last year she donated at leaset 40 baby afghans to our local children's hospital, 35 afghans to the women's shelter, some went to the Santa Program, and I know of at least 20 sets of hats and mittens that she dontated to the childrens winter program also. Anyhow, you might know that she is blind and it is the one thing she feels that she can do to make a difference in this world. She lost her sight a few years back and it really changed her life. Her act of kindness makes a difference to so many people. If you have yarn in your closet, basement or storage that you know you will never use and would like to find a home that would be put to use and help the needy please let me know. Thank you

Janice~

I mailed out your box of yarn this morning. There are several random squares of crocheted blanket-starts in there too. I hope everything doesn't get too tangled on the trip. The mail-lady and I were kind of cramming stuff to get it to fit in the box she had. :)

Hi Janice! If your mom can still use some yarn, I think I have 3 0r 4 skeins stashed somewhere I would like to send her. About once a year I decide it is time to learn to knit and go buy supplies, but I just can't figure it out. Now I can admit that it just wasn't meant to be, so I would like to send it her way if thats OK. My mom makes a lot of quilts for Project Linus so I am glad I can help your mom out, too.

Oh, and I have the start of a crocheted blanket that is maybe 7 or 8 inches across that will never be completed in my lifetime, so if she could use that in any way, even just unraveling it to use the yarn, let me know and I'll send it too.

Your mom is very special! Thanks!

Aimee- Thank you so much for the bags of yarn. I met your buddy last night at 12:00 am to pick up those lovely bags of yarn. Bless his heart. The roads have been terrible here, but he was so nice and willing to make it work so I could get your yarn. What a cool thing. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! I know my mom will whip up every inch into fantastic hats and mittens and blankets for the needy!

*I am always collecting yarn girls, so if you have any that is lying around, it doesn't matter if it is just scraps, my mom makes hats and mittens and blankets for the needy! Put your unwanted storage into good use!

Aimee - My Fair Lady is unable to get on the internet this morning, so she asked me to respond for her. She lives in Evanston, which is right on I-80. She said she would be willing to drive an hour to do the pick-up, if needed.

Thanks so much for getting invloved in this. It truly is a worthy cause.

Okay lady your gonna love this...

I have a truck driver friend that goes through WY twice a week. I have two other ladies willing to send to you, I need to find out where you live in relation to his route. He is willing to do it for free. So if he can get within, say a half hour of you, would you be willing to come get it?

Janice,
I have oodles of yarn. my mother collects it and never uses it. Then I get it. Where can I send it? I make scarves for the Angel Tree. They tell me what colors and I crochet (or fleece). The kids get a scarf to match the coats donated.

THANK YOU!!!!
What a welcome suprise in my mail yesterday to receive yarn from Angie.. all the way in Avon NY. This little Wyoming family was brimming with excitement to open the "Big" package. All the children had requested the honor of opening the gift. Thomas (age 11) called me at work 5 times telling me about this "big" package that came all the way from New York.. His favorite wanna go there someday place. What a pleasant and wonderful thing to have something to share and then do it. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It may seem that not much happens in our little world, but in this case it is just so nice to be on the receiving end and know it will turn into something on the giving end .. completing the circle of love as it was intended.

Janice. I would love to send you some for your mom. I make items for the Linus Project and enjoy spending my time crating something for someone else in need. I would be glad to send some yarn. E-mail me and let me know where to send it.
Angie.

Bonjour, Janice! Your mom is one incredible and terrific woman; I will gladly send some yarn your way to put in her talented hands. Email me with your address, and when I get back to Norfolk in a couple of weeks I will mail it off to you. (Your mom is a true farm girl, and tell her we think so!) Hugs, Nance
