Posted - Sep 15 2007 : 11:10:36 AM Hi! I have a little box of wooden thread spools (all empty). There are twelve larger ones (like 1 3/4 inch tall), 5 medium sized ones, and 28 of the smaller ones. They have brands like Clarks, Talon, Belding Corticelli, . . .anyone interested in them for crafts, decorating, etc? I'd love to trade! Thanks! |

Posted - Sep 27 2007 : 09:46:13 AM Sheila, Thank you so much for the spools. I received mine today. Don't worry about the note. it is unnecessary anyway. I knew what they were and who they were from. I love these, they are great and with the labels still on them! Am I glad you rescued them from the woodstove fate. ;)

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 1:24:07 PM Denise, I'm not sure yet. I'm practicing with a DK weight alpaca in cream. They make nice straps for knit/crochet bags; belts; lots of things, I just have to think of them! LOL

I had a total flashback when I found a spoolknitter put out by Lion Brand at Hobby Lobby, so I had to look them up. I used to do this all the time as a kid. Now I've got a project going on one! LOL I use a tiny crochet hook to lift the yarn over the nail.

Posted - Sep 22 2007 : 12:01:42 PM What a good idea Bonne. I remember those plastic things they put out in the 70's to make something with. They look like a spool and you wrapped the yarn around the 4 posts or something.
