Hooray, rain in Virginia! We need it so very badly!

To celebrate, I'll send an umbrella to the first person who responds. It's unopened, in the box, not a TOTES brand but similar type that collapses when unused to less than 9 inches in length. I think it's black; pretty sure, but I don't want to open the package to verify! I do not that it is not going to be a kid's design.

So, is it raining where you are today?

I have mostly indoor cats. There are 3 outside ones but they are older and too lazy to chase stuff. I have to trap squirrels and chipmunks and take out to work and release . I live in town and it is unreal at all the critters that are here to eat my garden. They eat the garden up and cats just watch them .I do worry about the coons maybe getting some of the toads. The toads really keep the garden bugs down. I notice that the toads are most active at dusk thru dawn.

lisa... do you have cats?
if so, do they like to snack on toads?
our cats do and i would love to have toad houses, but i'm afraid i would be setting up a buffet for them... we can't feed the birds anymore because these cats are so good at catching critters, high & low...

We had rain yesterday and i did my yardwork in it . It was a slow steady rain and i LOVED getting soaked. We have been in drought and it was awful. I have been bringing toads home from work all summer and i have to keep an area wet for them. They eat the garden bugs for me :) I need to find some more clay pots that are broken so i can make them toad houses thru out the yard for the winter

Just got back from exercise class - all that shaking didn't bring any rain. In fact, it was cloudy when I left my office and now it's sunny on both sides of the street! :D And the only place it's 66 degrees here is in the basement of the building-LOL Or possibly in the depths of Mammoth Cave! :D

You ladies are too funny.

Janice, I hope you get some rain soon. I would send you some in a mason jar if I could! Maybe the umbrella will bring you some rain; a good omen. Don't worry about Alishushu, I'll send her a little somethin' for sure!

Janice, it rained here last night, in our neck of the woods! I woke up this morning to 66 degrees, and when I looked out our bedroom window over the garden, I noted how "dark" the earth looked. Sure enough, the leaves were blown (and stuck) all over the wet street!

I am blowing it your way...isn't there some kindof dance you can do?

Jo - Please send the umbrella to Ali. We here in drought ridden Kentucky haven't used umbrellas since last spring - LOL(a sadly ironic LOL, at that)! Ali is forecast to have lots of rain this week - I read her post. Just send me your left over rain in a mason jar - rofl! Thanks!

Well, two responses, a single second apart.

Janice, send me your addy and the umbrella is yours!

AliShuShu, I have your addy from the pink apple I sent you (darn, I forgot what material you called it again) so I will send you a little something as well!

Gee, this is a fun way to clean out my gift closet!
