Okay, I can't figure out how to post pictures here so if you are interested you will need to e-mail me and I will e-mail you a picture. Basically, as a previous post stated, my Grandma has a quilt top and some quilt pieces for sale and she can really use the money. Since so many of you expressed an interest I am going to set up a way for all of you to bid, without going through eBay where so many more people will be bidding agaisnt you all. The only way I can think is to have three seperate "auctions" through e-mail. I will start a bidding price and you can e-mail me a price that you are willing to pay. I will send out an e-mail to all interested parties at least a couple times a day and you can up your bid if you see that you have been outbid. The end of bidding will be NOON on Thursday (Central Time), the 28th. The highest bid to reach me by Thursday at noon wins. Sound easy enough?!
NOTE: These items come from a smoking home. I will not launder them prior to mailing so they will probably have a smoke smell. These should be fine after a good washing or airing out.
Please e-mail me for pictures for the ones you are interested in.

*Flower Quilt Top, my Grandma is guessing from the 1930's, though could be a bit earlier or later. White background, looks to fit a twin bed. Aprox. 78" wide and 130" long. Five rows long and four rows wide. May be a bit discolored due to the age but in good condition!!

*80 Wedding Ring quilt pieces. Lovely small print on fabric, an old newspaper clipping that was found with the pieces shows that it is a Betty Ann Pattern. THe newspaper clipping says to send 25 cents if you want to buy the pattern so that sort of dates the pieces. My Grandma guesses them to be before the 30's. Lots of loose strings on these but good condition and beautiful fabric!!

*Quilt Circles. Salvaged from old Dresden Plate Quilt. 20 pieces. Would make good fabric pieces or could be resewn in some places and make into a quilt. Interesting sewing project. Made before the 40's.

E-mail if interested.

Elizabeth,
I received the quilt top today. Wanted to let you know and thank you for the candle and paper too. Did you make that? It's so pretty.
I will try to get a picture after it is put together. All I need to do is decide on backing for it. :)

I'm so excited to have won the Dresden Plates! That is one of my favorite patterns. Now to decide what I'm going to do with them. Maybe a quilt?? Maybe pillows???

yippeee. I do hope this helps your grandma with the funds she needs. If they were her own handmades, I would feel badly that she needed to sell them. As it is, they're ones she bought and didn't finish and she will put the money to good use for what she needs.

Jeez Sherri.. Can you get over that?? $5.00.. ! & $20.00

ok.. some one needs to bid on these a little better..
Yes it's a terrific Deal.. For US!!
But remember Her Grandmother is doing this because she is needing the money too..
So lets help her out Girls!!
We could even go together on the pieces if it's too much for one pocket.. & split the deal up between a couple of us!!
Just having these lovely quilt pieces to add to something else would be beautiful..!

( I have so been working my butt off today Jessie poo.. I wrote you a couple times though.. Did you get anything from me?)

The Dresden plates (the circles seen in picture #3) are sold in the lot of 20, she is not selling them seperatly. The bid is starting at $5 for ALL! Hope that helps! The Wedding Ring pieces are starting at $20 for all 80 pieces. And the quilt top is starting at $20. This does not include shipping but shipping should be anywhere from $4-$6.

babysmama Posted - Jun 25 2007 : 4:07:24 PM
UPDATE: I just spoke to my grandma and she said that the quilt top looks to be sewn by a machine, along with the border but the flowers (or applica' - spelling?!) is done by hand and looks like a button hole stitch? The other items look like a mixture of hand and machine.
mikesgirl Posted - Jun 25 2007 : 3:49:48 PM
Are you only selling the Dresden plates as individual blocks? So it would be $100 starting for the lot?
babysmama Posted - Jun 25 2007 : 3:32:03 PM
I've gotten several e-mails so wanted to update. The bidding for the quilt top is started at $20 (picture #1 & #2), the Dresden Plate Quilt circles (20 circles) (picture #3) is started at $5, the Betty Ann Pattern Wedding Ring quilt pattern (80 pieces) is starting at $20. These are all assumed to be from around the 30's or before. These were purchased at a garage sale at least 15 years ago so do not know the exact story behind them all. E-mail me with your bids and bidding update e-mails will be sent out throughtout the day. The higgest bid by noon on Thursday wins! Shipping for each piece should be about $4-$6, as I will charge only exact shipping. Thanks!!!!

okay, there are the pics of the available items from babysmama!! Bid em up!
Alee Posted - Jun 25 2007 : 1:32:33 PM
Hi Elizabeth!

To post pictures you need to upload them to the internet to a site like www.photobucket.com once they are uploaded to the internet, each photo will have it's own URL address. So to post them to the forum, just type in
[ img ]photo url here [ /img ]

that is all you have to do. Oh an don't put in the spaces in the brackets. I had to do that or the forum would think I was trying to post a picture :)

Email me if that doesn't make sense and I will try to help more. Also Gabe has some picture posting instructions here that are pretty detailed. http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6291
