Posted - Jun 11 2007 : 06:34:41 AM My sister in law, who is legally blind, crochets afagans for Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City. She has donated over 100 so far. This effort gives her purpose and a reason to live.
Her name is Ruth and she lost her sight to diabetes about five years ago. We used to tease her because she would watch TV and crochet without looking at her hands. We told her she could crochet even if she was blind.
Now she proves it every day. She is such an inspiring person.
Our family is asking for donations of yarn of any kind, so that Ruth can keep up her "good work". If you have extra laying around, email me for an address to mail it to.
Thanks so much and God Bless!

Posted - Jun 11 2007 : 4:55:44 PM I have some extra yarn that I could send you. It's nothing fancy, just regular basic acrylic. I think I have at least 5 unused skeins I can send to you. Your sister sounds like an amazing woman! I'll email you so you can let me know where to send it. Hope it helps!
