any one up for a fun 'DOLL APRON SWAP'?
we could do TWO things here ... make TWO dolly aprons .. one to SWAP with another farmgirl .. and one to send to Mary Jane .. for a little dolly clothesline filled with our aprons!
i'll be the 'momma' of this swap .. and the 'rooools' would be kinda' like this:
DOLL APRON SWAP
make TWO dolly aprons .. ohhhh .. about EIGHT inches WIDE
by TWELVE inches LONG. (it's a good idea for all of us to make them about the same size for two reasons ..
(one) .. it makes for a fair swap .. and
(two) .. if they are somewhat the same size ..
they would be cuter hanging on a clothes line together
(for maryjane) ..
i'll get a miniature clothesline and some small dolly-size clothespins to send along to maryjane too!
let us know HERE if you'd like to be in this swap and IMPORTANT .. also E-MAIL me .. with your FULL NAME, E-MAIL ADDY and MAILING ADDY
.. and i'll pull names from a basket and let you know who your swap partner is.
let's put a 'time-line' on this .. mail to BOTH your swap partner AND to MaryJane .. by JUNE 18 .. that would give us three weeks.
dolly aprons and small and quick and easy .. if you need some 'instructions' cuz' you've never made a 'people-size' apron before .. jus' e-mail me .. and i'll try and walk you through making one with some cute 'embellishments'.
(actually, all you need do .. is cut out an 8 by 12 piece of fabric and a matching or coordinating 'pocket and waistband) and gather the 8 inch side at the top. sew your belt to the gathers .. and sew on your pocket. you can tuck some little dried flowers in the pocket or make a really cute shaped pocket .. you can add lace .. ribbon flowers .. oh gosh so many ideas will pop into your head when you get it made .. just get your inspiration from 'full-size' aprons.

I heard that my swap partner has been really sick, and I hope she got my box.

Kathie, Don't worry about it so much. I've been sick all this week and have missed my mailing date too. It is sitting here completed, but I've felt too bad to get out to the postoffice!!

I am so not worried, as long as you aren't...I have had a migraine all day and thought today would be catch up day, so instead I tried to hide from light and noise! Try doing that on a Sunny summer day in a house full of kids under 9yrs old!!! |

I've just caught up on paying bills and other online stuff after losing my computer the beginning of last week...and the AC system burning up two days later! I think it all "scrambled my brain"
So, yea, I'd say you are way ahead of me in the organization department this week...LOL
It won't be long though and you'll see your apron

Oh Karin I was worried, cause there was no pocket and I had not a clue what I was doing. Don't you just love that cherry fabric. Just thought it would make such a way cute apron, found the lace in my small stash. It was the only piece there was and just fit. How is that for fun. Hey understand about vehicles. When it comes, it comes, no sweating it. sssssssssssoooooo glad you liked it.

Carol Sue- Your darling apron came in the mail yesterday!! I love the fabric and trim you chose. How did you know I love cherries!? The embroidery is just beautiful- so sweet and delicate. Lovely. Thank you so much! Yours is going out today. I have not had a vehicle to get to the post office (my dd's car has gone to it's great reward and she has been taking mine to work.) :( I do hope that you like it!

I finished up my quilt square swap squares and got those in the mail today. I'm just now finishing up my yo-yo's for the yo-yo swap, and then I'll finish up my dolly aprons. I've just got the hand sewing left, and we've got a road trip (in the car, not on the Harley) this weekend, so I should be able to finish them up & have them in the mail by Monday. Then it's on to make mini, mini-aprons, washcloths, and embroidered pillowcases!
Can you picture me going down the road on the back of the Harley trying to stitch up mini aprons?! What a sight!

OH NO. Angie yours is not done. Its cutout and edged but you still need a waistband, ties and a pocket. Will work on it this week and mail by Monday.
I keep my eyes open for the package.

I sent mine to Queen Mary, hope she like it, it is the first apron(of any size) that I have made! My swap partner and I are experiencing some 'end of school' scheduling 'challenges' (right Mary!!) but no doubt we will get right to it soon! LOL

I am just finishing up my aprons..Had to find Tatting small enough to go around the tiny ones I made.. I made 4 different ones and love them all.
