Posted - Nov 07 2015 : 7:28:13 PM Surgery was successful! At home recovery now. Very sore but hoping to use this as a motivator to eat healthier. I don't consider myself to be all that unhealthy to start, but definitely want to work on cutting out more processed foods.

Posted - Nov 06 2015 : 1:43:09 PM My hubby went through this in 2008. Had to take him to ER in the middle of the night in excruciating pain. Less than 24 hours later, after laser surgery I brought him home. He was doing better than I was . . . I had been up all night! He has had no problems at all since, except drinks very little coffee. He was not a big coffee drinker anyway.
Praying for you! CJ

No weight gain for me...from the gall bladder surgery. I was so happy when it was gone. I had stones, so it was very painful. Google bile salts.....don't want to go into it here because it's gross, but this a common recovery process most go through. Once you get through that it should be smooth sailing. I, too, have some things that go right through me....lettuce, fried eggs, etc. Once you know what they are, it's all good! Good luck and let us know how you do!

Posted - Oct 31 2015 : 10:20:47 PM Thank you everyone!
I am curious about weight loss/gain afterwards. A lot of people say that they gained weight after but my doctor said that people only gain weight because they binge eat. She said it is more likely that you'd lose weight because your body cannot process fat like it used to.

Get rest after and that helps alot, and pay atention to the not lifting anything heavy thinv the dkctor tells you. Mine said nothing over 10 lbs for a month!

Posted - Oct 21 2015 : 6:52:39 PM Libby, one of my closest friends had that surgery a few years ago, and she highly recommends it to anyone in need. She said it completely changed her life, in a good way! The only things she has trouble eating now are peppers and cucumbers, but she's fine with that. As far as anything else, everything in moderation! :)
Hang in there, okay? You can do this, I know you can! I'll be praying for you, too!
