This book is recommended by Paul Gautschi from Back to Eden. I just bought a copy and it is so good. So many people sick these days and this could be the answer. I am really eating more alkaline foods and less acid based foods. Has anyone else read it? Any feed back you have?

The title should be Alkaline and Die! The best way to alkaline your body is using the grounding method. My doctor gave me a long lecture about this issue and said DO NOT Drink alkaline water!!!! If you get your body too alkaline you will get cancer!!! He is an expert in so many of these fade things and he has videos on YouTube to educate the public. See my thread on Earthing with his website.

Catherine...you are right there, it is a bit hard to keep protein and starch apart! Also for me I have made smoothies for breakfast with fresh fruit and have always added greens but that's not good either. So it will take some time to reach the 80/20 diet. But at least for now I feel more aware of what and when to eat.

I have not read that book. But, have heard of the theory of our bodies needing to be more alkaline and the struggles of achieving balance because of our refined diets.

Years ago when I was getting my nutrition certification, there was a big push for 'food combining' and it how it had some affects on the acid/alkaline state of the body. Basically, proteins with veggies, starches with veggies, never protein and starches, fruit alone in the mornings.

I like doing the fruit in the morning and also juicing because the nutrients can be absorbed in the small intestine almost immediately. My biggest challenge is to not mix proteins and starches. I mean, how can you have meat without potatoes? lol

One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt."
