After a few rough weeks of excruciating pain I can now wake up feeling good. The doctor had me remove the collar because it was digging into my shoulder and causing painful swelling. Once I took the collar off the pain in the back of my neck felt worse than labor pains. My neck would seize and lock up and it would hurt to breath. After a cocktail of percocet and vallium for a few days I feel SOOO much better! Honest to God I thought I would be crippled by that pain and it kept me bed bound in partially comatose for about three days, then I just woke up and felt better like before the pain and surgery! I have already gained a good amount of movement and range in my neck. I guess I'll be doing therapy shortly. Can't wait. I may be able to salvage the summer after all! I do have one thing that is a reminder however. Its a contraption that I have to stick on my shoulders and attach to this little thing that cell phone. Its to help my bones grow back and heal faster. When its not on properly it goes off. Ask me how many times I woke myself up because of the beeping in the middle of the night! But even thats tolerable! Four months to go. I'm finding ways to conceal it but with hot weather theres not a lot I can do.

Aspiring Titus II and Proverbs 31 Lady.

Awww... That sounds horrible, Tracy! I'm so glad - SO glad - you're feeling better, though! I hope you'll be able to get a good night sleep without interruption soon. Hang in there! Hopefully the worst is over and the next four months will get easier and easier. Hopefully they'll pass in no time and you'll be better than new! :) Hugs - Nini
