Our dog got sprayed Monday night, and since then I have had respiratory issues- coughing, headache, runny nose, general lethargy. I have been doing the vick's in a bowl with the towel, and taking pain relievers, but is there anything else I should try? The migraine today is miserable!

Hi Shari,
I visited Salina, KS for some business and the air was thick and heavy with grain dust. (I am allergic to grains because they are in the grass family). I got a huge migraine and my meds were not working, so I called my allergy M.D. and he told me to couple my meds with a Benadryl. It did alleviate my headache very quickly, so it was a histamine reaction that I was having. Perhaps your body is having an allergic reaction. Also, my primary care physician told me when I have a big histamine headache if I stay home, not drive, etc. it is okay for me to take two Benadryl but prepare to be tired enough to fall asleep. The M.D.'s suggested Benadryl because it is stronger than most anti-histamines. But again, this was for my particular case. You should call your M.D. and see what they have to say about it. Good luck! Annie
