Good day to all,

I live in TN and am looking to get some Kefir Grains. I'm new to the forum and am looking to make Kefir for health reasons. Does anyone live near Chattanooga, TN and can let me buy some. Thank you

You can find both milk(from her goats) and water kefir from The Kefir Lady. Search for her online. I bought both kinds from her earlier this year and had them perpetuating wonderfully until a bout with pneumonia took me out of commission for awhile. By the time I felt like tending my grains again I was afraid to use them anymore and tossed them but they were probably fine. I'm wanting to get a new batch from her to start again soon. The milk doubles fairly fast and I'll be happy to share when they do.

I live right below Chatt. I have water kefir but the grains are so slow growing. I love the water kefir. I used to have milk kefir grains but it's so hard for me to keep them going in summer.

I have plenty of kombucha scoby if you want some. I take it to the Brainerd Farmer's market on Sat. from 10-12. Or I could bring some to the Main St. market on Wed. afternoons as well.

I see you are on Signal Mt. There is also a market up there. I haven't been yet. And welcome to the forum!

I just ordered some stuff from Cultures for Health. They had a 15% off sale around July 4th, a month after I got my big ole package in the mail. My kids adore the water kefir, and cultured buttermilk is on my to-do list this week. :D

Thank you. I will do that. Someone told me that it would be better to get it from someone that has been making it. Not sure if that is true or not. Thats why I though I would ask around. Rhonda
