Saline nose spray and a good old Vicks Inhaler always helps me. I also find that putting my hands in hot water opens up the blood vessels in my head and helps with pain. When I have a sinus headache, I always volunteer to do the dishes!

A friend recommended Bi Yan Pian from Plum Flower brand follow as directed

She gets your type of migraiens too and has knocked her headaches in half. She still has to rely on her Rx sometimes for the really bad ones if they fester for more than a day, but this may help as a homeopathic start

Hi Annie,
Thanks so much for your recommendations!! I will be following up with my doctor armed with questions based on the info you shared with me to see if he and I can come up with a better plan to manage these headaches. Sorry to hear that you are a fellow migrain-er, but I do appreciate your help!

Hi...
I suffer from migraines too, and a lot of it has to do with food allergies and environmental allergies. Your sinus may get inflammed due to histamines. My allergist, immumologist M.D. told me to take an antihistamine such as Zyrtec or Allegra. I am sensitive to Hydrochoric Acid so I used Claritin instead. The other thing you could do is try to follow a low histamine diet to keep the histamine levels in your system lower. If you have had this for a long time, I suggest allergy testing and possibly have your doctor run a histamine intolerance blood test to see if you have enough DAO (its a enzyme) that breaks down histamine in our systems. This blood test will tell you if you have histamine intolerance that could be an underlying factor. I am not a doctor and in no way does this message serve as a recommendation or medical advice to you. Each person is entirely different in these aspects. But it does give you some information to present to your doctor. The netti pots do work for many people. But if your system is just overloaded with histamine you need to lower that. Best to you!
